Thank you for purchasing this high-quality product made by ADE. You have acquired a

set of scales that meet the highest technical standards and are of proven quality.

Please read these operating instructions carefully before using the product for the first

time and keep them in a safe place where you can find them whenever you need the

information contained in the instructions.

1. Putting into service

Inserting the batteries / Replace the batteries:

To replace the batteries open the lid of the battery compartment. Move the battery at the

recess downwards. In this way, the batteries will be easy to take out. Make sure that you

do not bend the contact. Insert the new batteries (2 x CR 2032) and close the lid of the

battery compartment.

Safety guidelines:

Ensure that no objects fall onto the scales; otherwise, the scale

may be damaged.

Only use a damp cloth to clean the scales. Never use solvents

or abrasive cleaners. Do not put the scale under water. You

must clean all the plastic parts of the scales immediately after

they come into contact with grease, spices, vinegar or any other

strongly spiced or coloured foods. Avoid any contact with citric

acid.

2. Operation

Switching on the scales:

Place the scales on a firm, level base. Press down on the scales' surface for about

2 seconds with a pressure of 500 g to switch the scales on. The display initially shows at

first all characters. After the scales have stabilised, they display “0 g“ / “0.0 oz“ /

“0: 0.0 lb: oz“ or “0 ml”, depending on the setting. The scales are now ready to weigh.

Units of weight:

Touching the UNIT-panel allows you to change country-specific units of weight

(g = grammes / oz = ounces / lb: oz = pounds: ounces / ml = millilitres). Please ensure

that the scales are set to the appropriate units of weight for you.

Tare Function:

Touching the ON/TARE-panel allows you to set the scales to "0 g". Place a bowl, for

example, on the platform of the scales, touch the ON/TARE-panel and in this way set the

scales back to "0 g". You can repeat this procedure as often as you like until the total

capacity of the scales (5 kg) has been reached. After you remove the item(s) to be

weighed, the total weight is displayed as a minus value.

Automatic/manua l switch-off of the scales:

If the displayed weight does not change within about 60 seconds, the scales switch

themselves off automatically. To conserve batteries life, you can switch off the scales

manually by touching the ON/TARE button for approximately two seconds.

3. Error Messages

“Lo” = Indication that the battery is flat – Please replace the batteries with two

CR 2032.

“EEEE” = Overload display – The 5 kg maximum capacity of the scales has been

exceeded. Immediately remove the load from the scales; otherwise, the

load cell could be damaged.

4. Technical Data

5. Guarantee

ADE guarantees to rectify any defects due to material or manufacturing defects by means

of repair or replacement free of charge for a period of three years. In the case of guarantee

claims, please return the scales together with the sales slip to your retailer and stating the

reasons for the claim.

This device is interference-suppressed in accordance with

the applicable EU directive 2004/108/EC

Open the lid of the battery compartment on the bottom of the

scale and remove the battery safety strip. Please observe the

correct polarity of the batteries (+/-).
