DISK INSERTION AND FORMATTING
N.B. As with all cassettes, also the micro floppy disk has a
memory protection system. When the small window above the
switch is open, the MEMORY PROTECT function is activated and
it is not possible to save data on the disk. Closing the window,
by sliding the switch, the memory protection is deactivated
and data can be saved.
Use exclusively good quality 3,5" HD. 2 M. Byte
MICRO
FLOPPY DISKS
.
When handling floppy disks, follow these precautions:
1 Do not place disks next to loudspeakers, TV sets, or other
electric appliances which generate high magnetic fields; as
these may cause the cancellation of saved data.
2 Do not store disks in extremely hot or cold places, or where
they can come into contact with dust or smoke.
3 Do not leave disks in direct sunlight.
4 Do not bend disks or subject them to pressure.
5 Do not try to open the metal protection shutter.
In order to utilize a new disk, it is necessary to carry out the
FORMAT operation (formatting of the disk) in the following
manner:
Make sure the disk is inserted only in the direction as shown
here (when inserting the floppy disk in the drive, you should
hear a "
click" sound to ensure the disk is completely inside
the slot).

Press the "
DISK" button and (following SYSTEM PANEL N.3
at the previous page) search for the
FORMAT function by
means of the
DECR. or
INCR. buttons.
