Playback

Selection of audio channels - audio channel is

selected with AUDIO SELECT according to the chart

below.

HiFi signal indication

When you press CALL

during the playback of a

Hi-Fi video cassette or

when you start the play-

back of a HiFi video

cassette during CALL-

mode(see P.17), Hi-Fi will

appear on the TV-screen

for approx. 4 seconds.

• When you play a tape recorded in mono, the sound

is always played back in mono regardless of the

AUDIO SELECT setting.

•

If the sound is distorted when playing back the tape

recorded by other Hi-Fi VCR, adjust with TR + or –.

Nicam Hi-Fi Stereo Audio Recording and Playback

This VCR is capable of recording sound in Hi-Fi

system. NICAM STEREO broadcasts are recorded

in its original sound system regardless of the

setting. If you wish to record NICAM programs,

select NICAM "AUTO" as follows.

Preparation

Turn on the TV, and select the AV-program position on TV.

Press MENU.

Press or

repeatedly until the dot

before NICAM

blinks.

Press MENU repeatedly until the TV picture

appears on the screen.

Press / or

ENTER to select [AUTO].

NICAM programs are divided into 4 types as

shown below:

NICAM STEREO broadcast

If a Nicam stereo program

had been received when you

changed the channel or

pressed CALL, NICAM ST

will appear on the TV-screen

for approx. 4 seconds.

NICAM MONO A broadcast

If a Nicam Mono A program

had been received when you

changed the channel or pre-

ssed CALL, NICAM M1 will

appear on the TV-screen for

approx. 4 seconds.

NICAM MONO A B broadcast

If a Nicam Mono AB program

had been received when you

changed the channel or pre-

ssed CALL, NICAM M1/2 will

appear on the TV-screen for

approx. 4 seconds.

NICAM OFF

If no Nicam program had

been received when you

changed the channel or press

the CALL in case you had

selected “NICAM [OFF]” in

menu screen, NICAM OFF

will appear on the TV-screen

for approx. 4 seconds.

Note:

When listening to a stereo broadcast or playing back

a tape Hi-Fi recorded in stereo, you have to connect

the VCR with the stereo audio system or the stereo

TV. The sound which is output from the RF OUT

jack is monaural.
