FOREHEAD THERMOMETER

INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing this Fore-

head thermometer. This thermo-

meter is designed with advance

infrared and ambient temperature

compensation technology for accu-

rate and fast temperature measure-

ments. It also has a wide range

mode to scan temperature real time.

ON / OFF

Power on:

Press the “ON/MEN” button.

Power off:

Device will automatically power off

if left idle for more than 1 minute to

extend battery life. In next power on,

it will get back to the default setting

of “HEAD” temperature function

MODE SELECTION

FOREHEAD Mode:

The preset mode

of the thermometer

is forehead. The

thermometer is

ready for use after

the “Head” icon

stops ﬂ ashing and two beeps are

sounded.

SCAN Mode:

While the unit is

ON, hold dow

n the

“ON/MEN” button,

and press the

“Meas.” button,

then the icon

will replace the “HEAD” icon in the

LCD display.

Fever Alarm:

If the thermometer detects a tempe-

rature >37.5°C (or 99.5°F) under

forehead mode, a long beeping

sound followed by three short beep-

ing sounds to warn the user for

potential fever.

Measuring temperature under SCAN

mode:

When you press the “Meas” button,

you will get the temperature

immediately about 0.6 sec. If you

hold down the scan button, the

reading of measurement will be

continuous updated.

(This mode shows the

actual, unadjusted

temperatures, which is

different with the forehead mode.)

ATTENTION: the BC-12 is NOT

waterproof. The measuring of, for

example, the bath-water must be

done by pointing the thermometer

to the surface of the bath-water and

press the MEAS button.

Memory Function:

Press the “ON/MEN”

button to see the

temperature stored.

This thermometer provides 25 sets

memory for the last measurements.

** Please be noted that only the

“HEAD” function’s reading will be

recorded. (When the thermometer

is turned off, the las

t measurement

data is saved into memory.)

CHANGE °C / °F

To change the LCD from °C to °F:

When the unit is OFF, hold down the

“Meas.” button, then press and hold

the “ON/MEN” button until the LCD

shows ‘°F’, then release the “Meas.”

button. Use the same process to

change the LCD display from °F to

°C.

CLEANING AND STORAGE

The Probe is the most delicate part

of the thermometer. Use with care

when cleaning the probe to avoid

damage.

a. Allow the lens to fully dry for at

least 30 minutes.

b. Keep the unit dry and away from

any liquids and direct sunlight.

c. Please use the alcohol swab or

the soft cotton moistened with the

95% alcohol to clean the probe

lens.

d. Clean the probe and probe lens

after each use to ensure an

accurate reading and avoid cross

contamination.

IMPORTANT NOTES

1. Make sure the Probe is clean and

avoid the smothered with Rubber

boat (Protector).

2. Before the measurement, please

stay in a stable environment for

5 mins and avoid the exercise,

bath for 30mins.

3. Remember to keep the temple

area clean and away from sweat,

cosmetics and scar while taking

temperature.

4. During the measurement, please

away from the direct sunshine and

wind.

5. The BC-12 is NOT waterproof. Do

not plunge into any liquid.

CHANGING THE BATTERY

It is supplied with one lithium cell

(CR2032x1pcs).

1. Open the battery compartment

by turning the cover 45° clockwise

2. Remove the battery safety strip

with a sharp-pointed object.

3. Insert a new battery under the

metal hook and press down until

you hear a click sound

4. Close the battery cover.

ENVIRONMENT

Exhausted batteries may

never be disposed of in

household waste but must

be handed in at your local

depot for chemical waste.

At the end of the product

lifecycle, you should not

throw this product into the

normal household garbage

but bring the product to a

collection point for the recycling of

electrical and electronic equipments.

DISPLAY READOUT

Device can not be powered

on to the ready stage.

Change with a new battery.

Battery is low and no more

measurements are possible.

Replace the battery.

Device stabilization in

process. Wait until ‘HEAD’

stops ﬂ ashing.

error-1: Measurement before

device stabilization. Wait until

error-2: The device showing a

rapid ambient temperature

change.

error-3: The ambient

temperature is not within the

range between 10°C and

40°C (50°F~104°F).

error-4 ~ error-9:

The system is not

functioning

properly. Unload the battery, wait for 1

minute and repower it. If the message

reappears, contact the retailer for service.

THE GUARANTEE EXPIRES: When used

inexpert, leaking and faulty placed batteries, use

of unoriginal parts or accessories, negligence

and defects caused by ﬁ re, ﬂ ood, stroke of

lightning and natural disasters. With unqualiﬁ ed

modiﬁ cations or repairs by third persons. With

incorrect transport without a suitable packing. If

the device is not handed in with the correct ﬁ lled in

guarantee card and the purchase ticket.

NOT UNDER THIS GUARANTEE:

batteries.

USERS MANUAL

HOW TO USE

Measuring the FOREHEAD tempe-

rature:

Always make sure the probe lens is

clean without any damage, and the

forehead is clean.

Pres the “SCAN” button

and gently scan around

the temple area, you can

select the left side of the

left temples or the right side of the

right temples.

Measurement has been completed

after a long beep is heard. (The

time of measurement might be

between 5~8sec (up to 30sec). That

depend on when the thermometer

get the highest temperature of the

forehead.)

Note: Forehead temperature is

displayed in Oral Mode. This mode

converts the forehead temperature

to display its “Oral equivalent.”
