Open the battery compartment of the device (35).
Insert the supplied batteries with the correct polarity.
Close the battery compartment (35).
The radio waves from the channel display (20) flash and the device receives the
signal from the outdoor sensor. This process can take a few minutes.
If the reception is successful, the selected channel (20) is displayed and the current
temperature display outside (19) and the current humidity (21) appear.
After the external sensor has been successfully received, the device starts receiving the
DCF77 radio signal and the radio symbol (6) flashes in the display next to the time. This
process can take 3-10 minutes. During reception, all buttons except the
SNOOZE/LIGHT button (4) have no function.
After successful reception of the time signal, the time and date are set automatically. If
you are in a different time zone than the Central European time zone (CET, UTC +1),
set your time zone as described in the section Time zone adjustment.
If the reception of the time signal is unsuccessful after 10 minutes, the radio symbol (6)
goes out.
Set the time manually (see basic settings). The device will start a new reception attempt at
4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. and correct the time automatically after successful signal
reception.
Note: Please do not move the device or the outdoor sensor during the reception
process.
If the reception is successful, the radio symbol (6) appears permanently and
the correct time (5), date / day of the week (9), rising and setting times of the
sun (13) and moon (11) and the moon phase (10) are set automatically.
During summer time, S (7) appears on the display. This display is only available if the
DCF signal is received.
Adjusting the time zone
If you are in a country where the current time differs from the DCF77 radio signal, use the
time zone adjustment to use your device in a time zone other than the standard setting
(UTC + 1 = Central European Time).
Set the difference in hours (e.g. -01) to the desired time zone.
Press and hold the MODE button once and then press it briefly twice (26) in the
normal time display. The time zone flashes and can be set with the +/12-/24 button
(28) or -/RC button (30).
