your child’ s saf e journey . The seat has been designed, tes ted
and cerfied according to the UNECE R129, the Enhanced
Child Restrain t Systems.
The seal of approv al � (in a circle) and the appr oval number
are located on the orange approv al label (a scker on the
child seat). The child seat is designed f or a child with st atures
of 76cm-150cm, appro ximately 15 months - 12 year s old.
When used for sta tures between 135cm and 150cm,
Sperling-Fix i-Size migh t not fit in all v ehicles due to a low
posion of the vehicle roof at the side of the chosen installaon
posion.
It is important that you r ead this user manual BEFORE
installing your child seat. Incorrect installaon and/or misuse
of the seat could endanger your child. This user manual should
be kept to hand in the child sea t's user manual c ompartment
⑮ at all mes.
The young child insert ⑫ con tains a shock -ab-
sorbing foam and must be used unl the child is 2 years old.
From the age of 2 year s onwar ds it is allowed to remove the
young child insert. The cov er of the headres t contains an
addional shock -absorbing f oam on both sides. This foam
must be used unl the child is 4 year s old. Fr om the age of 4
year s onwar ds it is allowed to remove this foam from the
headrest c over .
Sperling-Fix i-Size has been appr oved f or
sta tures betw een 100cm and 150cm without using the
ISOFIX connector ⑱ and T op T ether ⑭ in vehicles. A VOV A
str ongly recommends the use of ISOFIX and T op T ether at all
mes where possible, for maximum saf ety .
Sperling-Fix i-Size is compable with universal
seang posions in vehicles. F or suitable posions in your
vehicle, please read y our vehicle handbook.
Never leave your child una ended in the child sea t.
Never secur e your child or the child seat with a
2-point belt as that may cause serious injuries or death in
the event of an acciden t.
Use on the r ear seat: Mov e the fron t seat
forwar d f ar enough that the child’ s feet c annot reach the
backrest of the fr ont sea t as that is saf er .
The rigid items and plasc parts of a
Sperling-Fix i-Size shall be so loc ated and inst alled that they
are not liable, during ev eryday use of the v ehicle, to become
trapped by a movable seat or in a door of the vehicle.
The vehicle seats may show signs of we ar and tear
when using child seat. In order t o avoid tha t, car seat pr otec-
tor s may be used.
Mak e sure all passengers are inf ormed about how to
release your child in the case of an emergency.
Mak e sure luggag e or other objects are properly
secured. Unsecur ed luggage may cause severe injuries to
children and adults in case of acciden ts.
Do not use any aggressiv e cleaning products,
which may harm the cons trucon material of the child seat.
A VO V A advises that child seats should not be
bought or sold second-hand.
DO NO T use the chi ld sea t for longer than 12
year s. Due to aging , the quality of the material may change.
DO NO T use at home. It ’ s not designed for
home use and can only be used in a vehicle.

Alwa ys loosen the T op T ether ⑭ by pressing and
holding down the T op T ether adjuster ⑯ buon and pulling the
T op T ether from the hook end. Aer the recline is adjusted to the
desired posion, ghten up the T op T ether by pulling the T op
T ether fr om the loose end.

4. Push the child seat firmly
towar ds the vehicle sea t backrest as
far back as possible unl it rests
agains t the vehicle seat backr est.
Please check that the
child seat is connect ed securely by
trying to pull it out from both sides.
2. Posion Sperling-Fix i-Size
on the suitable vehicle sea t,
leaving enough space betw een
the child seat and the vehicle
seat backres t. Place the T op
T ether ⑭ at the back of the
vehicle seat. Pull one of the
ISOFIX release lev ers ⑥ unl a
clear "click" is heard. Then
release the lev er back to its
original posion and pull the
lever again unl the ISOFIX
connector ⑱ fully extends.
Repea t the acons on the
other ISOFIX release lev er to
fully extend the other ISOFIX
connector .
3. Adjust the child seat posion
and engag e both of the child seat
ISOFIX connector s ⑱ to the
vehicle ISOFIX anchoring points
through the ISOFIX inseron
guides ⑳ .
A VO V A Sperling-Fix i-Siz e has 3 recline
posions. In some vehicles, it may be
necessary to loosen the T op T ether ⑭
bef ore adjusng the recline posion
and please remember to re-t ension the
T op T ether aer adjusng the recline
posion. T o adjust the recline posion,
hold the recline adjustment handle ⑧
up and slide the seat cushion by pushing
and pulling it back and forth ag ainst the
seat base to r each the desired r ecline
posion. Then release the recline
adjustment handle to ensur e the recline
posion is posively engaged.

It is suggested to use ISOFIX inseron guides to
help in the installaon. They help to prevent damages t o the
vehicle seat. If the v ehicle sea t c an be folded, remove the
ISOFIX inseron guides before doing so.
Please ensure the vehicle sea t that has
the child seat installed is in upright posion if the
vehicle seat is r eclinable.
Remov e the vehicle seat headr est or move it to the highest
posion so that it will not interf ere with the child sea t headrest
in the highest posion. 24

When the child is taller than 150cm or the child’ s
shoulders ex ceed the highest posion of the shoulder belt
guide① , the child must change to a seat which is suitable
for t aller children, or the vehicle sea t.
AV OVA Sperling-Fix i-Size is approv ed for
sta tures of 76cm–150cm, in the forwar d-facing direcon.
A VO V A Sperling-Fix i-Size can only be used in
vehicles fied with ISOFIX anchoring points and a T op
T ether anchoring point f or children between 76cm and 100cm.
Only use the 5-point harness ⑪ to secure your
child when he/she is less than 100cm in height. Once your child
reaches 100cm and ov er , you must use the vehicle’ s 3-point belt.

The child seat must alw ays be secured when it is
in the vehicle, eve n if no child is being transported, by using
ISOFIX anchoring points and T op T ether anchoring point or
vehicle 3-point belt.
The child seat needs to be check ed regularly to ensure
all the parts ar e funconing correctly and fr ee fr om an y damages.
Please dispose of your seat in the e vent of an y
vehicle and/or violent collision as the child sea t ma y be damaged
but the damage may not be immediately visible.
Do not use lubrican ts on or modify in an y wa y
your Sperling-Fix i-Siz e as this could seriously affect its
ability to prot ect your child.
Please do not expose the child seat unde r
intensiv e direct sunligh t. Under intensiv e direct sunlight,
the child seat or some of the child seat parts can get very
hot which can c ause harm to the child.

Audible"clicks" should
be heard when the ISOFIX connec-
tor s engage the v ehicle ISOFIX
anchoring points successfully . Check
and ensure the gr een signs are
visible on both ISOFIX indicator s ⑤ .
Mak e sure the child seat backrest is t ouching the
vehicle seat backr est and the vehicle sea t headrest is not
pushing the child seat awa y from the vehicle seat backrest. Y ou
may adjust or ev en remove the vehicle sea t headrest if needed.
