Preparation
•
cut desired applique shapes
•
fuse or baste as desired to a background fabric
Sewing
•
place the fabric under the needle and position it so the wide
portion of the stitch will form on the applique and the straight
portion will fall just outside of it on the background fabric
•
stitch around entire applique shape
•
for a hand-stitched look,
increase the stitch length and
width when appliqueing
heavy fabrics such as felt,
flannel, and Ultra Suede®
