WARNING: Danger of scalding!
• When pouring the water out, keep the lid closed.
• During operation the housing becomes hot. Do not touch it
and allow the device to cool down before storing it away.
Switching off
• If you do not wish to use the kettle any more, please turn the
switch to 0 (off) and then remove the plug from the socket.
The control lamp goes off.
• Emptying the water container.
Mains Cable Take-up Device
The mains cable can be wound up on the base.
Cleaning
• Always pull out the plug from the socket before clea-
ning!
• The exterior of the machine should be cleaned, if necessary,
with a slightly damp cloth without additives.
• The interior can be cleaned either with a damp cloth or with
detergent.
• There is a permanent fi lter in the spout. Open the lid to
clean the fi lter. In order to be able to remove the fi lter, press
down the outer „lug“ above the fi lter and then pull it towards
the inside. Rinse out the fi lter with running water. Put it back
in position, ensuring that it is correctly clamped down at the
edge.
Decalcifi cation
• The frequency of the decalcifying operation depends on the
hardness of the water and on how often the appliance is
used.
• If the machine switches off before the water boils, it probably
needs to be decalcifi ed.
• Please do not use vinegar but a commercially available
decalcifi cation agent on the basis of citric acid. Only use the
quantities stated in the instructions.
ޥ NOTE:
After descaling the device boil fresh water in it several times
(approximately 3-4 times) in order to remove any residues. Do
not consume this water.
Troubleshooting
• It is not possible to switch the machine on.
Possible Cause:
After being used without or with too little water the machine
has not cooled down suffi ciently.
Remedy:
Allow the machine to cool down for 15 min.
• The machine switches off before the water has boiled.
Possible Cause:
The heated base is coated with too much lime or the circuit
of the plug is overloaded.
Remedy:
Descale the machine as instructed.
Check the mains connection.
• The machine does not switch off.
Possible Cause:
The lid is not closed.
Remedy:
Close the lid.
