PowerBoost function en

vPowerBoost function

Po we r Bo o s t f unct i on

PowerBoost lets you heat up large volumes of water

even faster than on heat setting 9.

PowerBoost is only available on hotplates marked with

the boost and the G symbols.

With dual-circuit hotplates the second filament circuit

has to be activated for use with the PowerBoost

function.

Switching on PowerBoost

1. Set the desired ongoing cooking setting for the

hotplate.

2. Touch the à symbol. The › display lights up.

The PowerBoost function is switched on.

Switching off PowerBoost

Touch the à symbol again.

The › display goes out. The PowerBoost function is

switched off.

Notes

■ If you do not turn off the PowerBoost function, it

switches off automatically after a certain period of

time. The hotplate reverts to the set ongoing cooking

setting.

■ Please remember that oil and fat heat up quickly with

PowerBoost. Never leave the hob unattended. Oil

and fat that have overheated will catch fire quickly,

see section Important safety information.

Power manager

The power manager protects the home installation from

overloading.

If many cooking zones are operated at a high setting, it

is possible that PowerBoost may not be able to switch

on, or that it is switched off in continuous operation.

setting 9 is then set automatically.

AChildproof lock

Ch i l d p r o o f lock

You can use the childproof lock to prevent children

from switching on the hob.

Switching the child safety lock on and off

The hob must be switched off.

To switch on: Touch the

D symbol for approx.

4 seconds. The display light above the D symbol

lights up for 10 seconds. The hob is now locked.

To switch off: Touch the

D symbol for approx. 4

seconds. The lock is released.

Locked hob

If you adjust a hotplate on a locked hob, the following

occurs:

■ ‹ flashes in the hotplate display or the residual heat

display alternates with ‹.

■ The display light above the D symbol lights up.

Switch the hotplate off. Release the lock.

Automatic childproof lock

This function automatically activates the childproof lock

every time you switch the hob off.
