USING YOUR KETTLE
Before using this product, please read this manual carefully and adhere to all
instructions.
Before using the Kettle for the first time fill the Kettle with water to up to the maximum
indicator mark, boil and discard the boiling water. Repeat this instruction twice before
using the kettle.
1. Ensure that the Kettle is unplugged.
2. Open the lid and fill with cold water.
3. Never fill the Kettle when it is on the power base.
4. Fill the Kettle with the desired amount of fresh water. Ensure that the kettle, power
base and cord are dry and put the kettle on the base.
5. Ensure that the water level is filled above the minimum water level mark and that it
does not exceed the maximum water level mark.
6. When the Kettle has been filled with water, place it firmly on its base.
7. Ensure that the lid is properly closed by pressing it down firmly to close.
8. Turn on the switch. Do not turn on the kettle switch before placing the kettle on the
base.
9. When the water has boiled, the Kettle will switch OFF automatically.
10. The Kettle may be switched OFF at any time by turning the ON/OFF switch to the off
position.
11. Do not pour the water out of the Kettle before the water inside the kettle stops
boiling.
12. Take care not to be scalded by boiling water.
13. If the kettle shuts down automatically before boiling, this indicates that there is too
much scale in the Kettle and that it should be descaled.
COLOUR CHANGING LED LIGHTS
The LED on the thermal plate lights up blue when switched on, changes to purple as the
water heats up and turns red when the water starts boiling.
TROUBLESHOOTING CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
1. Remove the mains plug from the mains electrical supply before cleaning.
2. Never immerse the Kettle, power cord or plug in water or any other liquid.
3. Clean the exterior by wiping with a slightly dampened cloth and immediately wipe
dry. Never use solvents, polish, abrasives or aerosol cleaners as they will damage the
surface of the Kettle
4. Ensure that the Kettle, power base and cord are completely dry before switching on
the Kettle.
HOW TO ELIMINATE SCALE
In order to keep the Kettle in good working order the scale must be frequently removed. If
the Kettle switches off before boiling, it must be descaled.
To descale, fill the Kettle with 1L cold water and add approximately 75ml vinegar.
Boil the water and allow it to stand overnight.
Re-boil the water the next day.
Empty the Kettle and fill with fresh water. Boil the water and then empty the kettle again.
Normal commercial descalers may be used. Follow the instructions on the packaging very
carefully.

WARRANTY
THE WARRANTY WILL ONLY BE VALID IF THE PRODUCT IS RETURNED WITH A PROOF OF
PURCHASE TILL SLIP AND ORIGINAL PACKAGING.
Warranty exclusions:
The warranty will not be valid if:
1. The product has not been installed, operated or maintained in accordance
with the manufacturer's operating instructions provided with the product.
2. The product has been used for any purpose other than its intended function.
3. The damage or malfunction of the product is caused by any of the following:
- Incorrect voltage
- Accidents (including liquid or moisture damage)
- Misuse or abuse of the product
- Faulty or improper installation
- Mains supply problems, including power spikes or lightning damage
- Infestation by insects
- Tampering or modification of the product by persons other than
authorised service personnel
- Exposure to abnormally corrosive materials
- Insertion of foreign objects into the unit
- Usage with accessories not pre-approved by Brabantia
- General wear and tear, including, but not limited to, minor discolouration
and scratches
Please refer to and heed all warnings and precautions in this Instruction
Manual.
