3 Charge the handset batteries
for at least 16 hours
Place the handset on the base station or
charging unit (available separately). The
handset can be charged face up or
down. Make sure that the contacts on
the bottom end of the handset are
touching both charging contacts.
When the handset batteries are
charging, the green
CHARGING light
comes on.
When the handset has been charging
for 16 hours, the Diverse 2000 Executive
is ready for registration.
Getting the most from your batteries
Once charging has started, do not lift
the handset from the base or charging
station for 16 hours. We recommend
that you charge the handset for the first
time overnight.

Normal battery charging
After charging your Diverse 2000
Executive Handset for the first time,
normal charging time for the NiCad
handset batteries is about 4-5 hours.
Batteries become warm during charging:
this is normal and not dangerous. As
charging is controlled electronically by
the Diverse 2000 Executive Handset,
this means you can replace the handset
back on the base or charging station
between calls without overcharging.
Under ideal conditions, the handset
batteries should give about 6 hours
talktime or 50 hours standby on a single
charge. However, NiCad batteries do
not reach their full capacity until they
have been in normal use for several days.
