To set the security PIN code
A new security code can only be set via
the handset.
Press the
SCREEN/MENU button.

0 button.
To set a new security PIN code press

beep. Your Freestyle 1025 announces the
new security PIN code.

Security code
Your Freestyle 1025 has a security PIN code
which must be entered when remotely accessing
the answering machine. This ensures your
messages are private and can be accessed only
by the users who know the security code. Your
Freestyle 1025 answering machine has a preset
security code of 000.
Call screening
You can let your answer machine pick up a call,
even if you are in. This allows you to identify the
caller and decide whether to take the call.
Make sure that the volume is set to an audible
level (see page 17).
Allow the incoming call to be answered by your
Freestyle 1025 as normal. You will hear the
caller begin to leave a message.
To screen a call from the base unit
Press buttons in order shown
If the handset is resting on the base unit
and you decide to take the call, lift the
handset and speak to the caller.
Recording will stop automatically.
To screen a call via the handset
When your Freestyle 1025 starts to
record an incoming message, the
IN USE
light flashes.
Press the
SCREEN/MENU button.
You can hear the caller on the handset.
Or
To interrupt recording and talk to your
caller, press the
TALK button.
