V entilation
IMPORT ANT – The unit will become hot when in use. Do not stack multiple
units on top of each other . Do not place in an enclosed area such as a
bookcase or in a cabinet without sufcient ventilation.
Ensure that small objects do not fall through any ventilation grille. If this
happens, switch off immediately , disconnect from the mains supply and
contact your dealer f or advice.
Positioning
Choose the installation location carefully . Av oid placing it in direct sunlight or
close to a source of heat. No naked ame sources, such as lighted candles,
should be placed on the unit. Also avoid locations subject t o vibration and
excessiv e dust, cold or moisture. The unit can be used in a moderate climate.
This unit must be installed on a sturdy , le vel surface. Do not place in a sealed
area such as a bookcase or in a cabinet. Do not place the unit on an unstable
surface or shelf. The unit may fall, causing serious injur y to a child or adult
as well as serious damage to the product. Do not place other eq uipment on
top of the unit.
Due t o stra y magnetic elds, turntables or CRT TVs should not be located
nearby due to possible int erference.
Electronic audio components ha ve a running in period of ar ound a week (if
used sev eral hours per day). This will allow the ne w components to settle
down and the sonic pr oper ties will impro ve ov er this time.
Pow er sources
The unit should be operated only fr om the type of power sour ce indicated
on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of po wer -supply to your
home, consult your pr oduct dealer or local power com pany .
This unit can be left in Standby mode when not in use and will draw <0.5W in
this state. T o turn the unit off, switch of f at the rear panel. If you do not int end
to use this unit f or a long period of time, unplug it from the mains sock et.
Overloading
Do not overload wall outlets or extension cords as this can result in a risk of
re or electric shock. Ov erloaded AC outlets, ext ension cords, frayed power
cords, damaged or crack ed wire insulation and brok en plugs are dangerous.
They ma y result in a shock or re hazard.
Be sure to insert each power cord securely . T o prev ent hum and noise, do not
bundle the inter connect leads with the power cor d or speaker leads.
Cleaning
T o clean the unit, wipe its case with a dry , lint-free cloth. Do not use an y
cleaning uids containing alcohol, ammonia or abrasives. Do not spra y an
aerosol at or near the unit.
Battery disposal
Batteries ma y contain substances harmful to the en vironment. Please dispose
of any discharged batt eries with due consideration and in accordance with
local envir onmental/electronic recycling guidelines.
Loudspeakers
Before making an y connections to loudspeak ers, make sure all po wer is
turned off and only use suitable interconnects.
Servicing
These units are not user serviceable. Never att empt to repair , disassemble
or reconstruct the unit if there seems to be a pr oblem. A serious electric
shock could result if this precautionary measure is ignored. In the event of a
problem or failure, please contact y our dealer .
IMPORT ANT
If the unit is run at a very high level, a sensor will det ect a temperature rise
and show "PROTECTION O VERLO AD" on the display . The unit will then go int o
Standby mode. It cannot be switched on again until the t emperature has
fallen to a more normal le vel.
Cambridge Audio warrants this pr oduct to be free fr om defects in mat erials
and workmanship (subject to the terms set forth below). Cambridge Audio will
repair or replace (at Cambridge Audio's option) this pr oduct or any def ective
parts in this product. Warranty periods ma y vary from country to countr y . If

dealer from which y ou purchased this product. If y our dealer is not equipped
to perform the repair of your Cambridge A udio product, it can be returned b y

agent. Y ou will need to ship this pr oduct in either its original packaging or
packaging affording an equal degree of pr ot ection.
Proof of pur chase in the form of a bill of sale or receipt ed inv oice, which is
evidence that this pr oduct is within the warranty period, must be presented
to obtain warranty service.
This Warranty is in valid if (a) the fact or y-applied serial number has been
altered or remo ved from this pr oduct or (b) this product w as not purchased
from a Cambridge A udio authorised dealer . Y ou ma y call Cambridge Audio

an unaltered serial number and/or y ou purchased from a Cambridge A udio

This Warranty does no t cover cosmetic damage or damage due t o acts of
God, accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, commercial use, or modication
of, or to an y par t of, the product. This W arranty does not cov er damage due
to impr oper operation, maintenance or installation, or att empted repair
by an yone other than Cambridge Audio or a Cambridge Audio dealer , or
authorised service agent which is authorised to do Cambridge Audio warranty

Limited warranty
Plug tting instructions (UK only)
The cord supplied with this appliance is factory-tted with a UK mains plug
tted with a 5-amp fuse inside. If it is necessary to change the fuse, it is
important that a 5-amp fuse is used. If the plug needs to be changed because
it is not suitable for your socket, or becomes damaged, it should be cut off
and an appropriat e plug tted f ollowing the wiring instructions below. The
plug must then be disposed of safely , as insertion into a mains sock et is
likely to cause an electrical hazard. Should it be necessary to t a 3-pin BS
mains plug to the po wer cor d, the wires should be tt ed as shown in this
diagram. The colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not
correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in y our plug.
Connect them as follo ws:
The wire which is coloured BLUE must be
connected t o the terminal which is mark ed
with the letter 'N' or coloured BLA CK.
The wire which is coloured BRO WN must be
connected t o the terminal which is mark ed
with the letter 'L' or coloured RED.
The wire which is coloured GREEN/YELLO W
must be connected t o the terminal which is
marked with the le tter 'E' or coloured GREEN.
If a standard 13-amp (BS 1363) plug is used, a 5-amp fuse must be tted or ,
if any other type of plug is used, a 5-am p fuse must be tted, either in the plug
or adaptor , or on the distribution boar d.
