Operating instructions
Once all the required input and output connections are made, the One can be
switched on using its rear panel Pow er switch and front panel or handset Standb y/
On button.
Either front panel or handset butt ons can be used for the majority of the One
control functions.
T o use the One as a con ventional CD pla yer , proceed as described in the follo wing
paragraphs:
Loading and playing CDs
This unit has been designed to pla y compact discs, recordable
CDs (CD-R) and re-writable CDs (CD-RW) bearing the identication
logo shown here. No other discs can be used. An y CD-R/CD-RW
discs should contain properly recorded TOC (T able of Contents)
information so that the y can be play ed back. This unit can play
only the discs recorded in the CD-D A format designed f or music repr oduction. Do
not attempt t o play a disc containing o ther data, such as a CD-ROM f or PCs with
MP3 or WMA les, on this unit.
Compatible bitrates
MP3 – 96, 128, 192, 256 and 320 kbps.
WMA – 48, 64, 96, 128, 160 and 1 92 kbps.
1. Select CD mode or load the disc into the CD slot. Once the disc is loaded, the
source will automatically switch t o CD mode.
2. The disc will automatically star t playing from the beginning of the rst track.
When the last track has nished playing, the unit will go t o Standby mode.
3. T o stop the disc at any point, press the Stop button. Pressing the Pause button
while the disc is playing will pause the disc. When the disc is paused the displa y
will ash, play can be resumed b y pressing the Pause button again.
4. T o eject disc, press the Stop button to st op the play back and press again t o
eject the disc.
IMPORT ANT!:
– Do not put anything except a compatible disc int o the disc slot. Foreign objects
may damage the mechanism.
– If a disc is seriously scratched or dirty the player may not be able t o read or
play it.
– Never load more than one disc at a time int o the disc slot.
– Once the disc is ejected from the disc slot, do not push the disc back inside
while the disc is in the slot. T o re-insert the disc, take the disc out of the slot and
put back into the slot.
Playing a specific CD track
With the One switched on and a disc loaded, specic tracks can be selected for
playback b y pressing one of the front panel or handset buttons to step
through the tracks on the disc f orwards or backwar ds. When the desired track is
shown on the One displa y , press the front panel or handse t Play butt on to begin
playback. The disc will then pla y from the select ed track to the end.
Note: The numerical butt ons on the remote can be used f or pla ying specic track.
Scanning within tracks
With the One switched on and a disc playing, a specic point in a track can be
found b y pressing and holding one of the front panel or handset Scan butt ons to
fast-forwar d or fast-rev erse through the track. When the desired point in the track
is reached the button can be released. The disc will then pla y from the select ed
point to the end.
Repeating discs and tracks
With the One switched on and a disc playing, either a specic track or an entire
disc can be set to repeat indenitely. T o repeat a specic track press the handset
Repeat button once while the track is playing. The One displa y will show "R epeat
T rack". To repeat an entire disc sim ply press the handset Repeat butt on twice in
quick succession. The One display will sho w "Repeat All". T rack or disc repeat can
be cancelled by a further press of the Repeat button, b y pressing the front panel or
handset Sto p button or by opening the disc dra wer .
Playing tracks randomly
With the One switched on and a disc loaded, the tracks can be play ed randomly .
T o select random pla y simply press the handset Random butt on once and then
the Play button. Random play can be cancelled b y a further press of the Random
button. The disc will then continue t o play the tracks in the "correct" or der follo wing
the track that was pla ying when random play was cancelled.
Programming disc play
The order in which CD tracks are pla yed can be pr ogrammed with a playlist. T racks
can also be suppressed from a pla ylist or programmed t o play more than once.
With the One switched on and a disc loaded, press the handset Prog button. The
One display will sho w the Program menu. Use the fr ont panel or handset
buttons to step through the disc to the track you wish to be the rst track in the
playlist. Press the Select button on the remote to conrm the rst track. Repeat this
procedure f or all the tracks required in the pla ylist and then press the front panel
or handset button t o store the pr ogrammed playlist. When the pla ylist is stored,
use the front panel or handset butt on to pla y the programmed pla ylist.
The front panel or handset , and
functions can be used as normal
while a programmed pla ylist is playing. Press the fr ont panel or handset button
once to stop pla yback without deleting the pla ylist, or press it twice both to st op
playback and delet e the playlist.
D AB/FM T uner
Press the Standby/On button. Press either the FM or D AB sour ce button.
FM mode
T o tune and list en to stations, do the f ollowing:
1. Press the button t o scan up to the ne xt available station.
2. Press the button to scan t o previous a vailable station.
Note: F or manual tuning, press and hold either of the buttons. This will step
the frequency by 0.05MHz.
DAB mode
When selecting D AB mode f or the v ery rst time, the unit will initiat e a 'F ull Service
Scan' for DAB ser vices (can take up to 3 minutes to complete). A scanning bar
appears on the display while scanning f or stations. When scanning is complet ed,
the unit will default to the D AB source mode. Use the buttons to cycle through
receivable stations.
A partial or full scan for DAB station scan also be initiated at an y time in the future
(see later section).
Press Enter to tune t o and listen t o the selected station.
Note:
– When scrolling thr ough stations, as default the unit will re vert to the previous
station if no station is selected or butt on pressed for 3-4 seconds. The One can
also automatically tune to an y displa yed station after 3-4 seconds of inactivity if
required. When in DAB mode press and hold the front panel or remot e control
/ control. After 4 seconds an "Aut o Enter On" or "A uto Ent er Off" message will
be display ed. Press / to repeatedly toggle between these tw o settings then
either press no button f or a fe w seconds or press in the V olume/Select control
to exit and sa ve the se tting.
– The number of DAB stations received will depend on aerial signal strength. W e
recommend completing a full aut o scan from time t o time to pick up new D AB
stations.
– In DAB mode you can also press the Menu button which will rst bring up a
<Station Select> menu item. This also allows y ou to scr oll to and select an y
desired station using the volume contr ol.
DAB settings
It is possible to change the D AB region setting for this unit. This is necessary if the
unit has been moved t o a different region location.
Note: Changing the D AB region will erase all the stored D AB presets.
1. Press the Menu button on the remote to go t o the menu settings.
2. Use the buttons and select 'T uner Setup > T uner Region'. Press the Select
button to change the tuner region se ttings.
3. Use the buttons t o bro wse through the a vailable country DAB region setting
Europe, K orea, USA, Australia, Canada, China and T aiwan.
4. Select the correct region and press the Select button t o accept the new changes.
5. Restart the unit and per form a full station scan.
