Preparing the Camera

Power Saving Mode

Using the power saving mode allows you to maximize battery life by limiting certain functions, resulting in

reduced power consumption.

Select > [B System Setup] > [Power Saving Mode] > [On].

The following functions/settings cannot be used during power saving mode

Checking the Required Type of Power Source (Power Source Navigation)

Using the power source navigation function you can check the recording settings that are available* based on

the lens/accessories attached, current recording configuration (recording format/frame rate) and the power

source used.

* When shooting with power saving mode set to [Off].

Types of power source: Battery pack, PD-E1 USB Power Adapter and DR-E6C DC Coupler.

Checking the Power Source

1Select > [B System Setup] > [Power Source Navigation] > [Check the required power source.].

2 Select the type of lens.

3 Select the recording format and frame rate combination (multiple selection is possible).

• The required power source configuration is displayed.

Checking the Recording Settings

1Select > [B System Setup] > [Power Source Navigation] > [Check the available recording settings.].

2 Select the type of lens.

3 Select the type of power source.

• If you use a commercially available accessory compatible with the multi-function shoe (e.g. the XLR

Microphone Adapter), check the [Power XLR Mic Adapter from Camera] checkbox when supplying power

from the camera.

• The available recording format/frame rate is displayed.

Onscreen Message Unavailable function/setting

[RAW] [Main Rec Format] (A191) > [RAW HQ] / [RAW ST] / [RAW LT] / [HDMI RAW]

[RAW or 7680x4320 or higher resolution] [Main Resolution/Bit Rate] (A191) > [8192x4320] / [7680x4320]

[Slow & fast motion at XF-AVC Intra

3840x2160 or higher] (Slow & fast motion)

When [Main Rec Format] (A191) is set to XF-AVC and [Main Resolution/Bit Rate] (A191) is

set to [3840x2160 Intra-frame] or [4096x2160 Intra-frame]:

Clip / Audio (WAV)]

[LCD/VF Luminance] > [¢ Monitoring Setup] > [LCD Luminance] / [VF Luminance]

[HDR Assist. LCD/VF] (HDR assistance) > [¢ Monitoring Setup] > [Select View Assist: LCD] / [Select View Assist: VF] >

[HDR Assist. (1600%)] / [HDR Assist. (400%)]

[Network Functions] > [ Network Settings] > [Network] > [Enable]

[Accessories powered from the camera] Accessories (compatible with the multi-function shoe) powered from the camera.

[USB modes other than PTP connection/GP-E2] > [B System Setup] > [USB Mode] > [Video Output (UVC)] / [Canon App(s) for

iPhone]
