Countdown Timer
The countdown timer can be set within a range of 1
minute to 24 hours. An alar m sounds when the countdown
reaches zero .
• Countdown timer functions are a vailab le in the
Countdown Timer Mode, which you enter b y pressing
B.
T o set the countdown star t time
1. In the Countdown Timer Mode , hold down A until the
hour setting of the countdown start time star ts to flash,
which indicates the setting screen.
2. Press B or C to mov e the flashing between the hour
and minute settings.
3. While a setting is flashing, use E (+) and D (– ) to change it.
• T o set the starting value of the countdown time to 24 hours, set 0:00 .
4. Press A to exit the setting screen.
T o use the countdown timer
Press C while in the Countdown Timer Mode to start the countdown timer .
• When the end of the countdown is reached, the alarm sounds for 10 seconds or until
you stop it by pressing an y button. The countdown time is automatically reset to its
star ting value after the alarm stops.
• Press C while a countdown oper ation is in progress to pause it. Press C again to
resume the countdown.
• T o completely stop a countdown operation, first pause it (b y pressing C ), and then
press A . This returns the countdown time to its star ting value .
• The countdown timer measurement oper ation continues ev en if you e xit the
Countdown Timer Mode.
Dual Time
The Dual Time Mode lets you keep trac k of time in a
diff erent time zone. Y ou can select Standard Time or
Daylight Sa ving Time f or the Dual Time Mode time, and a
simple operation lets you vie w the Timekeeping Mode
screen or Data Bank Mode screen.
• The seconds count of the Dual Time is synchronized
with the seconds count of the Timekeeping Mode.
• All of the operations in this section are perf ormed in the
Dual Time Mode , which you enter b y pressing B.
T o set the Dual Time
1. In the Dual Time Mode , hold down A until the hour setting start to flash, which
indicates the setting screen.
2. Press B or C to move the flashing between the hour and min ute settings.
3. While a setting is flashing, use E (+) and D (– ) to change it.
4. Press A to exit the setting screen.
T o toggle Dual Time Mode time between DST and Standard Time
Holding down C f or about two seconds in the Dual Time Mode toggles between
Daylight Sa ving Time (DST display) and Standard Time (DST not display ed).
• The DST indicator on the display indicates that da ylight sa ving time is turned on.
T o display the Timekeeping screen and Data Bank screen
Holding down D in the Dual Time Mode displa ys the Timekeeping screen. Holding
down E displays the record y ou were vie wing when you last used the Data Bank
Mode.

A uto Display
Auto Displa y continually changes the contents of the
digital display .
T o turn off Auto Display
Press any button (e xcept for L) to turn off Auto Display .
This returns to the Timek eeping Mode.
T o turn on Auto Display
Hold down B for about tw o seconds until the watch
beeps.
• Note that A uto Display cannot be perf ormed while a
setting screen is on the display .
A uto Return Features
• After you perf orm any button operation (e xcept f or the backlight b utton) in any mode,
pressing B returns directly to the Timek eeping Mode.
• If y ou leave the w atch in the Data Bank Mode for tw o or three minutes without
performing any operation, it automatically changes to the Timekeeping Mode.
• If y ou leave a screen with flashing digits or a cursor on the displa y f or two or three
minutes without performing any oper ation, the watch automatically sav es any
settings you ha ve made up to that point and e xits the setting screen.
Data and Setting Scrolling
The B, C, D, and E b uttons are used in various modes and setting screens to
scroll through data on the display . In most cases, holding do wn these buttons during a
scroll operation scrolls through the data at high speed.

When you enter the Data Bank or Alarm Mode, the data you w ere viewing when y ou
last exited the mode appears first.

Timekeeping
• Resetting the seconds to 00 while the current count is in the range of 30 to 59
causes the minutes to be increased b y 1. In the range of 00 to 29, the seconds are
reset to 00 without changing the minutes.
• The year can be set in the range of 2000 to 2039.
• The watch ’s b uilt-in full automatic calendar automatically makes allowances f or
diff erent month lengths and leap years. Once you set the date, there should be no
reason to change it except after y ou have the w atch’s battery replaced.
Backlight Precautions
The backlight uses an LED (light-emitting diode) and a light guide panel that causes
the entire display to glo w for easy reading in the dark. In any mode , press L to
illuminate the display f or about one second.
• The illumination provided by the bac klight may be hard to see when vie wed under
direct sunlight.
• The backlight automatically turns off whenev er an alarm sounds.
• Frequent use of the bac klight shortens the batter y life .
