Getting Acquainted
Congratulations upon your selection of this CASIO w atch. T o get the most out of your
purchase, be sure to read this manual carefully and k eep it on hand for later ref erence
when necessary .
Before using the watch f or the first time...
Some watches are sent from the f actor y with the second
hand stopped at 12 o’clock. Press the B b utton to start
the second hand.
About This Manual
•Button operations are indicated using the letters shown
in the illustration.
•Each section of this manual provides you with the
information you need to perf orm operations in each
mode. Fur ther details and technical information can be
found in the “Reference” section.

General Guide
•This watch is designed so the function of a button is e x ecuted when you release the
button, not when you press it.
•Use A and B to change from mode to mode as shown belo w .
Radio-controlled Timekeeping
This watch receives a time calibration signal and updates its time setting accordingly .
The time calibration signal includes both Standard Time and Daylight Sa ving Time
(summer time) data.
•This watch is designed to pick up the time calibr ation signal transmitted in Germany
(Mainflingen), England (Rugby), and the United States (F ort Colllins).
Current Time Setting
This watch adjusts its time setting automatically in accordance with a time calibration
signal. Y ou also can perf or m a manual procedure to set the time when necessary .
•The first thing you should do after purchasing this watch is to specify y our Home
Time Zone, which is the time zone where y ou normally will use the watch. F or more
information, see “ T o specify y our Home Time Zone” below .
•When using the watch outside the range of the time signal transmitters , you will have
to adjust the current time setting manually as required. See “Timekeeping ” for more
information about manual time settings .
T o specify y our Home Time Zone
1. In the Timekeeping Mode , hold down B for about fiv e
seconds until the second hand mov es to the hour
marker that corresponds to the currently selected time
zone (see below) and stops . This is the setting mode.
•The GMT differential indicates the time diff erence in
hours between Greenwich Mean Time and the
applicable time zone , as described in the table below .
2. Press A to mo ve the second hand to the hour marker
for the time z one you want to select as y our Home Time
Zone.

3. Press B three times to exit the setting mode.
•The watch will also return to the Timekeeping Mode if you do not perf orm any
operation f or about three minutes.
•Normally , your watch should show the correct time as soon as you e xit the Home
Time Zone setting screen. If it does not, it should adjust automatically after the ne xt
auto receive oper ation (in the middle of the night). Y ou can also perform manual
receive or you can set the time man ually .

•Even if the time calibr ation signal is received correctly , there are some times when
the analog hands may not indicate the correct time . If this happens, use the
procedures under “ Adjusting the Home P ositions” to check the home positions of the
hands, and make adjustments as required.
•The watch will receive the time calibr ation signal automatically from the applicable
transmitter (in the middle of the night) and update its settings accordingly . For
information about the relationship between time zones (GMT diff erential v alues) and
transmitters, see “T ransmitters” .
•See the maps under “ Reception Ranges” for information about the reception ranges
of the watch.
•Y ou can disab le time signal reception, if you want. See “ T o turn off time calibration
signal reception” for more inf ormation.
Time Calibration Signal Reception
There are two different methods y ou can use to receive the time calibr ation signal:
auto receive and manual receive .
•Auto Receive
With auto receive, the watch receiv es the time calibration signal automatically up to
five times a da y . When any auto receive is successful, the remaining auto receive
operations are not performed. For more information, see “ About A uto Receive” .
•Manual Receive
Manual receive lets y ou start a time calibration receive operation with the press of a
button. For more information, see “ T o perf or m manual receive”.
Important!
•When getting ready to receive the time calibration signal, position the w atch as
shown in the nearby illustr ation, with its 6 o’ clock side facing to wards a window .
Make sure there are no metal objects nearb y .

•The watch should not be f acing the wrong wa y .
•Proper signal reception can be difficult or ev en impossible under the conditions listed
below .
•Signal reception is normally better at night than during the day .
•Time calibration signal reception takes from tw o to sev en minutes, b ut in some
cases it can take as long as 10 min utes. T ake care that y ou do not perform any
button operations or mo ve the watch during this time .

•Under good conditions, the signal reception range is appro ximately 1,500 km (930
miles) from the German or U.K. transmitter, and appro ximately 3,000 km (2,000
miles) from the U .S. transmitter.
•At distances greater than 500 km (310 miles) from the German or U.K. transmitter ,
and approximately 900 km (600 miles) from the U .S. transmitter , signal reception
may not be possib le at certain times of the day and during cer tain periods of the
year . Radio interf erence may also cause prob lems with reception.
