TEST THE SAFETY REVERSE SYSTEM
The safety reverse system test is important. Garage door
must reverse on contact with a 50mm obstacle laid flat on
the floor. Failure to properly adjust opener may result in
serious personal injury from a closing garage door. Repeat
test once a month and adjust as needed.
Procedure:
Always begin with door in fully open position.
Place a 50mm
obstacle (1) laid flat on the floor under the garage door. Operate the door
in the down direction. The door must reverse on the obstruction. If it does
not, decrease the down (close) force by turning the down force control in
a counterclockwise direction. (See 18, above.)
Repeat test.
When the door reverses on the 50mm obstacle, remove the obstruction
and run the opener through a complete travel cycle. Door must not
reverse in closed position. If it does, reset Limits and Force and repeat
safety reverse test.
INSTALL THE DOOR CONTROL
Locate any wall mounted door control where the garage door is
visible, away from door and door hardware, at a minimum height of
1,5m. Fasten the child warning label on the wall near the door
control.
There are 2 screw terminals (1) on the back of the door control (2). Strip
about 6mm of insulation from bell wire (4). Separate wires enough to
connect the white/red wire to terminal screw 1 and the white wire to
terminal screw 2.
Lighted Door Control Button: Fasten to an inside garage wall with sheet
metal screws (3) provided. Drill 4mm holes and use anchors (6) if
installing into drywall or concrete. A convenient place is beside the service
door and out of reach of children.
Multifunction Door Control:
Remove the white cover by pushing both
thumbs against upper corners on the
back side,
as shown. Fasten to an
inside garage wall with
sheet metal screws (8)
as follows:
• Install bottom screw, allowing 3mm to protrude from the wall.
• Position bottom of door control over screw head and adjust for snug fit.
• Install top screw with care to avoid cracking plastic housing.
Do not
overtighten.
• Replace cover by inserting bottom tabs
(9)
and snapping into place. To
remove cover after mounting, gently pry at top with paper clip or small flat
head screwdriver.
Run the bell wire up the wall and across the ceiling to the garage door
opener. Use insulated staples (5) to secure wire.
The operator terminal screws (Model 600) or connectors (7) (Models
800 and 1000) are located on the control panel. Connect the bell wire to
the screws or connectors as follows: white/red to 1 and white to 2.
Models 800 and 1000: Be sure to separate wire and insert only one
stripped end per connector hole. To insert or remove wire, depress the
push down block below.
OPERATION OF THE DOOR CONTROL
Lighted Door Control Button: Press to open or close the door. Press
again to stop the door during opening cycle.
Multifunction Door Control: Press the white square to open or close the
door. Press again to stop the door while it is moving.
Light Feature:
Press the Light button to turn the opener light on or off. If
you turn it on and then activate the opener, the light will remain on for 2-
1/2 minutes. Press again to turn it off sooner. The Light button will not
control the opener lights when the door is in motion.
Lock Feature:
Prevents operation of the door from portable remote
controls. However, the door will open and close from the Door Control
push button, the Outside Keylock and the Keyless Entry Accessories.
To Activate:
Press and hold the Lock button for 2 seconds. The push
button light will flash as long as the Lock feature is
on.
To turn off:
Press and hold the Lock button again for 2 seconds. The
push button light will stop flashing. The Lock feature will also turn off
whenever the PROG button on the control panel is activated.

ADJUSTMENT SECTION
-
PROGRAM THE TRAVEL LIMITS
Travel limits regulate the points at which the door will stop when moving
up or down. Follow the steps below to set the desired up limit. The down
limit will be set automatically during step 4. During this step, use the
remote control shipped with your opener. Any other remote will not work
until its code is programmed into your opener’s receiver (see “Program
your Opener and Remote”).
NOTE: The door should be 40-80cm from the floor after rail has been
installed and trolley connected.
1. Use the two buttons (1), (2) on the control panel to place the unit into
limit setting mode:
Press and hold the PROG button (2) while you press the button on
the left (1), then release both buttons. The indicator light (3) will blink
slowly. The operator is now in limit learn mode.
2. Press the left button (1) until the door travels up to the desired limit. If
the door goes above the desired up limit, use the PROG button (2) to
lower it. Check to be sure the door is high enough for your vehicle.
Adjust if necessary, using both buttons.
3. Place a 50mm thick piece of wood on the floor under the center of the
door.
4. Press the remote (4) or wall control push button. The door will travel
down, touch the block, then reverse and stop in the up limit position.
The indicator light will stop blinking and turn off. The opener has
learned the up and down limits. Remove the wood block.
During step 4, if the door reverses before touching the block,
increase the
down
force (See “Force Adjustment,” following), then repeat
steps 1-4 above.
If the door stops before reaching the up limit,
increase the
up
force by
small adjustments until it reaches the up limit. (See “Force Adjustment,”
following). Repeat step 4.
FORCE ADJUSTMENT
The force, as measured on the closing edge of the door, should not
exceed 150N (15kg). If the closing force is adjusted to more than 150N,
The Protector System™ must be installed.
Do not use force adjustments to compensate for a binding or sticking
garage door. Excessive force will interfere with proper operation of the
safety reverse system or damage the door.
Force Adjustment Controls (1 & 2) are located on the control panel.
If the force adjustments are set too light, door travel may be interrupted by
nuisance reversals in down direction and stops in up direction. Weather
conditions can affect the door movement, occasional adjustment may be
needed.
Maximum force adjustment range is 260 degrees, about 3/4 of a complete
turn. Do not force controls beyond that point. Turn force adjustment
controls with a screwdriver.
Test Down (Close) Force: Grasp the door handle or door bottom when
door is about halfway through down (close) travel. Door should reverse.
Reversal halfway through down travel does not guarantee reversal on a
50mm obstruction.
If the door is hard to hold or doesn't reverse, decrease down (close)
force by turning the control (2) in a counterclockwise direction.
Make
small adjustments until door reverses normally. After each adjustment, run
opener through a complete cycle.
If the door doesn’t close fully (50mm or less from closed), or if it
reverses during the down (close) cycle:
Increase
down
(close) force by
turning the control (2) in a clockwise direction. Make small adjustments
until door completes close cycle. After each adjustment, run the opener
through a complete travel cycle.
Do not increase the force beyond the
minimum amount required to close the door.
If the door stops before reaching the up limit:
Increase
up
(open) force
by turning the control (1) in a clockwise direction. Make small adjustments
until door opens completely. After each adjustment, run the opener
through a complete travel cycle.
