Switching off

• If you do not wish to use the kettle any more, please turn the

switch to 0 (off) and then remove the plug from the socket.

The blue illuminated ring in the base lights up.

• Emptying the water container.

Cleaning

• Always pull out the plug from the mains socket before

cleaning and wait until the unit has cooled down.

• Do not use any wire brush or other abrasive objects.

• Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.

• Never immerse the device or the base in water or other

liquids.

Water Container

• Rinse the water container out with clean water. Then dry it

off with a cloth.

Exterior of the Housing

• Clean the housing after use with a slightly damp cloth.

Permanent Filter

• There is a permanent ﬁ lter in the spout. In order to clean the

ﬁ lter, pull it out with the lid open. Rinse out the ﬁ lter with run-

ning water. Reinsert it, taking note of the guide mechanism.

Decalciﬁ cation

• The frequency of the decalcifying operation depends on the

hardness of the water and on how often the appliance is

used.

• If the machine switches off before the water boils, it probably

needs to be decalciﬁ ed.

• Please do not use vinegar but a commercially available

decalciﬁ cation agent on the basis of citric acid. Only use the

quantities stated in the instructions.

ޥ NOTE:

After descaling the device boil fresh water in it several times

(approximately 3-4 times) in order to remove any residues. Do

not consume this water.

Troubleshooting

• It is not possible to switch the machine on.

Possible Cause:

After being used without or with too little water the machine

has not cooled down sufﬁ ciently.

Remedy:

Allow the machine to cool down for 15 min.

• The machine switches off before the water has boiled.

Possible Cause:

The heated base is coated with too much lime or the circuit

of the plug is overloaded.

Remedy:

Descale the machine as instructed.

Check the mains connection.

• The machine does not switch off.

Possible Cause:

The lid is not closed.

Remedy:

Close the lid.
