Croozer Dog Inspections and Maintenance

Croozer Dog Inspections and Main-

tenance

To ensure that your Croozer Dog will have a safe, long and

problem-free service life, inspections and maintenance

must be performed at regular intervals. The Croozer Dog’s

wheels, hitch arm, frame, fabric body, security pins, hitch

connector and hitch must be checked periodically for dam-

age. If any of these parts are found to be damaged, the

Croozer Dog may not be used until the damage has been

properly repaired.

Never use the Croozer Dog if it is not in perfect working

order. Damaged parts could cause accidents with serious

injury or death. Therefore, be sure to have your Croozer

Dog serviced regularly – at least once a year – by a pro-

fessional bicycle mechanic.

It is vitally important that the maintenance work described

in this section be performed to professional standards

and at the specified intervals.

Inspection intervals

Check the overall condition of the Croozer Dog before

each use, or daily, to identify any parts in need of repair

or replacement. Generally, a visual inspection is sufcient:

is everything where it belongs, are there any tears in the

fabric body, are any of the metal parts cracked or bent, are

the tyres in good condition and properly inated, are all

security pins securely locked in the appropriate positions

and, if applicable, are the accessories in perfect working

order? A complete checklist for inspection is provided in

the table on the right.

Service intervals

Have the Croozer Dog serviced by a professional bicycle

mechanic at least once a year. The required frequency

of maintenance will depend on various factors, such as

weather conditions, road conditions, loading etc. If the

Croozer Dog is not being used very often, then an annual

service by a professional bicycle mechanic is sufcient. If

the Croozer Dog is used on a daily basis, even in the win-

ter, then we recommend having it professionally serviced

more often, as the parts can wear signicantly faster. Us-

ing a bike with electric assist to pull the Bicycle Trailer can

also subject the parts to much greater wear, meaning that

shorter service intervals may be necessary.
