We recommend that you avoid high revs and

that you follow the recommendations on the

gear-change indicator. See the additional in-

formation in ›››page146, Selecting the op-

timal gear.

Speed limiter1)

If the indicator light turns on, the engine will

be automatically limited to the speed shown on

the instrument cluster. This protects the en-

gine components in situations such as a cold

start or against overheating.

The engine speed limiter is released as soon as

the engine reaches normal operating temper-

ature and the takes his/her foot o the accel-

erator.

If the engine speed limitation is caused by an

engine management fault, the indicator

lamp also lights up. Make sure the displayed

RPM is not exceeded (for example, by reducing

it). Go immediately to a specialised workshop

to have the fault repaired.

Flashing indicator1)2)

The ashing indicator warns the driver that the

engine RPM limit has been reached.

The ashing indication is displayed in the up-

per areas of the rev counter by green, yellow

and red areas.

When the RPM approaches the limit, the ash-

ing indicator ashes red. Shift up a gear at the

right time.

NOTICE

● To prevent damage to the engine, the rev

counter needle should only remain in the red

zone for a short period of time.

●When the engine is cold, avoid high revs

and heavy acceleration and do not make the

engine work hard.

For the sake of the environment

Changing up a gear early will help you to

save fuel and minimise emissions and engine

noise.

Fuel gauge

Control lamps

Its lights up yellow. Fuel tank almost

empty. The fuel reserve level has been

reached ››› . Refuel as soon as you

have the opportunity.

Its lights up yellow. Presence of water

in diesel. Turn o the engine and seek

professional assistance.

The display only works when the ignition is

switched on.

The fuel range is displayed on the instrument

panel.

WARNING

When driving with low fuel, the vehicle may

stall in traic and cause accidents and severe

injuries.

●If the fuel tank level is too low, fuel

could reach the engine irregularly, particu-

larly when driving up or down slopes.

●The steering system and the assistant sys-

tems and brakes do not work when the en-

gine is running irregularly or switches o due

to lack of fuel or an irregular supply thereof.
