Entering the Service Tag in the BIOS
Removing the System Board
1. Follow the instructions in Before You Begin.
2. Remove any installed card or blank from the Media Card Reader.
3. Remove the base cover (see Removing the Base Cover).
4. Remove the battery (see Removing the Battery).
5. Remove the memory module(s) (see Removing the Memory Module(s)).
6. Remove the Mini-Card (see Removing the Mini-Card).
7. Remove the hard drive (see Removing the Hard Drive).
8. Remove the coin-cell battery (see Removing the Coin-Cell Battery).
9. Remove the optical drive (see Removing the Optical Drive).
10. Remove the fan (see Removing the Fan).
11. Remove the heat sink (see Removing the Heat Sink).
12. Disconnect the audio-board cable, keyboard cable, touch-pad cable, keyboard back-light cable, display cable, power-button board cable, AC- adapter
connector cable, and camera cable from the connectors on the system board.

CAUTION: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal
surface (such as a connector on your computer).
