Cleaning the coee maker
The following parts of the machine must be cleaned regularly:
- coee grounds container ( (A18),
- drip tray (A16),
- water tank (A13),
- coee spouts (A19),
- pre-ground coee funnel (A8),
- inside of the machine, accessible after opening the infuser
door (A19),
- infuser (A21).
Important!
• Do not use solvents, abrasive detergents oralcohol to
clean the coee maker. With De’Longhi superautomatic
coee makers, you need not use chemical products to
clean the machine.
• Noneofthecomponentscanbewashedinadishwasher.
• Donotusemetalobjectstoremoveencrustationsorcoee
deposits as they could scratch metal or plastic surfaces.
Cleaning the coee grounds container
When the light ashes, the coee grounds container
needs emptying. Unless you clean the grounds container, the
light will continue to ash and the appliance cannot be used
to make coee.
To clean (with the machine on):
• Opentheservicedooronthefrontoftheappliance,ex-
tract the drip tray (g. 18), empty and clean.
• Emptythegroundscontainerandcleanthoroughlytore-
move all residues left on the bottom.
Important!
When removing the drip tray, the grounds container must be
emptied, even if it contains few grounds.
If this is not done, when you make the next coees, the
grounds container may ll up more than expected and clog the
machine.
Cleaning the drip tray
Important!
If the drip tray is not emptied regularly, the water could over-
ow from the edge and seep inside or around the machine.
This could damage the machine, the surface it rests on or the
surrounding area.
The drip tray is tted with a level indicator (red) showing the
level of water it contains ( g. 19). Before the indicator pro- (g. 19). Before the indicator pro-Before the indicator pro-
trudes from the cup tray, the drip tray must be emptied and
cleaned. To remove the drip tray:
1. Remove the drip tray and the grounds container (g. 18);
2. Empty the drip tray and grounds container and wash
them;
3. Replace the drip tray and grounds container.
Cleaning the inside of the machine
Danger of electric shock!
Before cleaning internal parts, the machine must be turned o
(see “Turning o”) and unplugged from the mains power sup-
ply. Never immerse the coee maker in water.
1. Check regularly (about once a month) that the inside of
the appliance (accessible after removing the drip tray) is
not dirty.
If necessary, remove coee deposits with a brush and a
sponge.
2. Aspirare tutti i residui con un aspirapolvere (g. 20).
Cleaning the water tank
1. Clean the water tank (A12) regularly (about once per
month and, if ttet, every time you change the water l-
ter) using a wet sponge and mild soapy water.
2. Remove the residues with a vacuum cleaner
Cleaning the coee spouts
1. Clean the coee spouts with a sponge or cloth (g. 21).

essary, remove coee deposits with a toothpick (g. 22).
Cleaning the pre-ground coee funnel
Check regularly (about once a month ) that the pre-ground
coee funnel (A8) is not blocked. If necessary, remove coee
deposits with a brush.
Cleaning the infuser
The infuser (A21) must be cleaned at least once a month.
Important!
The infuser must not be extracted when the machine is on.
1. Make sure the machine is correctly turned o (see Turning
o).
2. Open the service door
3. Extract the drip tray and the grounds container (g. 18).
4. Press the two red release buttons inwards and at the same
time pull the infuser outwards (g. 23).
Important!
RINSE WITH WATER ONLY
NO WASHING UP LIQUIDNO DISH WASHER

  • Guten Tag, habe eine ESAM 04.120 und die blinkt immer von links nach rechts. Habe schon alles ausprobiert was in der Beschreibung steht aber nichts geht! Was kann ich noch tun? Eingereicht am 28-12-2022 16:04

  • Hallo
    Ich meine das mein Kaffeeautomat lauter geworden ist und das der Kaffee länger braucht beim durchlaufen. Der Kaffeeautomat ist ca 4 Jahre alt. Habe sie immer mit de Longhi Entkalker entkalkt und habe die Brüheinheit rausgeholt u unter heißem Wasser so alle 4 Wochen sauber gemacht.

  • wir haben eine magnifica esam04.120.s. bisher habe ich sie immer im entkalkt, sobald die Konrtrolllampe geleutchtet hat. Nun verwenden wir gefiltertes Wasser. die Kontrolllampe leuchtet, da sie meines Erachtens nach ca. 150 Tassen durch das Zählwerk aktiviert wird. Kann ich die Lampe ignorieren oder wird nach einer bestimmten Zeit die Kaffeeausgabe gesperrt. Dies wurde mir von Kollegen erzählt. Eingereicht am 23-8-2017 17:28

  • der Kaffee kommt nur gering aus den Ausgüssen des Kaffeeauslauf.
    Der Kaffee fließt zum großen Teilen die Abtropfschale.
