CLEANING

General instructions

Please observe that the surfaces and controls are suscep-

tible to scratches and abrasions. All external surfaces and

controls can be cleaned using warm water with a little

washing-up liquid applied with a sponge or cloth. Wipe

the surfaces dry using a soft cloth.

Do not use cleaning agents containing soda,

acids, chlorides or solvents. Avoid abrasive

cleaning agents, e.g. powder cleaners or cream

cleaners and abrasive sponges as these will dam-

age the surface material. Furthermore, do not

use too much water when cleaning the controls.

Water could penetrate into the electronics and

cause damage.

Cleaning the fan lter

The fan ﬁlter absorbs grease in cooking fumes and

requires cleaning now and then. How often depends

on how much the cooker is used and for how much the

fan is in operation. Remove and clean the ﬁlter regularly

and do not wait until the suction power of the fan begins

to decrease noticeably. Please note that an oversaturated

ﬁlter is a ﬁre hazard.

To clean the ﬁlter, follow these steps:

Remove the ﬁlter by gently sliding it to the 1.

side (a). Pull it downward and push to the other

side. The ﬁlter will drop out (b).

Clean the ﬁlter. Either by hand, using a soft nylon 2.

brush, warm water and a little washing up liquid

- or - in a dishwasher where the ﬁlter should be

placed with the short side upright in the lower

basket, ensuring the spray arm is not obstructed.

Wash using a 65 °C (145-150 °F) programme.

Depending on the cleaning agent used,

cleaning the ﬁlters in a dishwasher can

cause permanent discolouration to the

surface. However, this will not affect the

functioning of the ﬁlters in any way.

Reinstall in reverse order of removal. Make 3.

sure the ﬁlter is securely engaged.

To turn the cooker hood on/off

Press the Fan motor switch

to turn the cooker hood on/off.

Depending on the intensity of

the cooking vapours, select

half speed or full speed .

To turn the light on/off

Press the Light switch to

turn the light on/off.

Select low light setting

or high light setting .

Some tips and advice

Using the low light option will extend the life of the •

lamps.

Always turn hood ON when cooking at high heat. •

You will ﬁnd it helpful to turn the cooker hood on

a few minutes before you start cooking. This starts

to move the air in the kitchen and will speed up the

elimination of cooking odours.

It is advisable to run the fan for a few minutes after •

cooking is ﬁnished to neutralise any lingering odors

in the air.

Always disconnect the cooker hood from the mains

supply before cleaning or changing any parts.
