HEARING AID COMP A TIBILIT Y
Note! For hearing aid com patibility, turn off Bluetooth connectivity .
This phone is hearing aid compatible. Hearing aid compatibility is not a guarant ee that a specic hearing
aid will work with a specic phone. Mobile phones contain radio transmitters that ma y interfere with
hearing aid performance. This phone has been tested f or use with hearing aids, for some of the wireless
technologies that it uses, but there ma y be some newer wireless technologies that hav e not been tested
yet f or use with hearing aids. To ensure that a specic hearing aid wor ks well with this phone, test them
together bef ore making a purchase.
The standard f or hearing aid compatibility contains two types of ratings:
• M: T o use your hearing aid in this mode, make sure that your hearing aid is se t to “M-mode” or
acoustic coupling mode, and position the phones receiver near the hearing aid’s built-in micr ophone.
For the best results, try using the phone in different positions relative to y our hearing aid—for example,
placing the receiver slightly abov e the ear may result in better performance for hearing aids with
microphones positioned behind the ear .
• T: T o use your hearing aid in this mode, make sure that your hearing aid is se t to “Tmode” or telecoil
coupling mode (not all hearing aids hav e this mode). For the best results, try using the phone in
different positions relative to y our hearing aid—for example, placing the receiver slightly belo w or in
front of the ear ma y result in better per formance.
Y our device meets the M4/T3 level rating.
SPECIFIC ABSORPTION RA TE (SAR)
This device meets applicable int ernational safety req uirements for exposure to radio wa ves. Y our
mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiv er. It is designed not t o exceed the limits for e xposure
to radio wa ves (radio frequency electromagnetic elds) recommended by int ernational guidelines from
the independent scientic organization ICNIRP (International Commission of Non-Ionizing Radiation
Prot ection).
The radio wav e exposure guidelines use a unit of measurement known as the Specic Absorption Rate,
or SAR. The SAR limit for mobile de vices is 2 W/k g av eraged over 10 grams of tissue and include a
substantial safety margin designed t o assure the safety of all persons, regardless of age and health.
T ests for SAR are conducted using standar d operating positions with the device transmitting at its highest
certied power level in all t ested frequency bands. The highest SAR values under the ICNIRP guidelines for
this device model are:
Head SAR: 0.73 7 W/k g
Body SAR: 0.7 11 W/kg
During normal use, the SAR values for this de vice are usually well below the values stated abo ve. This is
because, for purposes of syst em efciency and to minimize interference on the network, the output pow er
of your mobile device is aut omatically decreased when full power is not needed for the call. The lo wer the
power output of the de vice, the lower its SAR value.
This device meets RF e xposure guidelines when used against the head or when positioned at least 1.5
cm awa y from the body. When a carry case, belt clip or other form of de vice holder is used for body-worn
operation, it should not contain metal and should pro vide at least the above stated separation distance
from the body .
The World Health Organization (WHO) has stat ed that current scientic information does not indicate
the need for an y special precautions when using mobile devices. If you are interested in reducing y our
exposure, they recommend y ou reduce your usage or use a hands-free accessory to keep the device a way
from your head and body .
