ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION (DEALER)
Refer to local regulations in the country of use for anything which is not specically covered in the information provided. In
Italy, refer to the UNI 10683 standard, as well as any Regional or Local Health Authority regulations. If the stove is to be
installed in a block of apartments, consult the block administration before installing.
VERIFICATION OF COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER DEVICES
The stove must NOT be installed in the same room with extractors and/or type B gas appliances.
VERIFICATION OF THE POWER SUPPLY CONNECTIONS (the plug must be accessible)
The stove is tted with an electrical power cable that is to be connected to a 230V 50 Hz socket, preferably tted with a
magnetothermic switch. Voltage variations exceeding 10% can damage the stove (a suitable differential switch must be tted
unless one is already installed). The electrical system must comply with the law; particularly verify the efciency of the
earthing system. The power line must have a suitable cross-section for the stove’s power.
An inadequate earthing system can cause anomalies for which Edilkamin cannot be held liable.
SAFETY DISTANCES: FIRE PREVENTION AND POSITIONING
The stove must be level for it to function properly.
Verify the bearing capacity of the oor.
The stove must be installed in accordance with the following safety conditions:
- medium ammability items must be kept at a minimum distance of 40 cm from the sides and back of the stove
- highly ammable items must be kept at a minimum distance of 80 cm if placed in front of the stove
- if the oor on which the stove is installed is ammable, a sheet of heat insulating material must be placed between the stove
and the ooring and this must protrude at least 20 cm on each side and 40 cm at the front.
If it is not possible to comply with the above mentioned distances, technical and construction-related measures must be taken
to prevent re hazards.
If the smoke exhaust pipe is to be connected to a wall made of wood or other ammable material, the smoke exhaust pipe must
be insulated with ceramic bre or other material with equivalent characteristics.
AIR INLET
The room in which the stove is installed must have an air inlet with a cross-section of at least 80 cm2 which guarantees
replenishment of the air used for combustion.
Alternatively, the stove can draw in air directly from the outside through a steel pipe extension having a diameter of 4 cm. This
may cause condensation problems so the air inlet opening must be covered with a protection net, which must have a free crosssec-
tion of at least 12 cm2. The pipe must be shorter than 1 metre and must not have bends.
Its end part must either be facing 90° downwards or be covered with a wind guard.
SMOKE OUTLET
The stove must have its own smoke outlet (the smoke cannot be discharged into a smoke ue used by other devices).
The smoke is let out through the 8 cm diameter pipe at the back of the stove.
A T-section with a condensation trap must be tted at the beginning of the vertical section.
The stove’s smoke outlet must be connected to outside by means of black-painted or steel pipes (resistant to 450° C), with no
obstructions.
The pipe must be hermetically sealed. The material used to seal and if necessary insulate the pipes, must be resistant to at least
300° C (high temperature silicone or mastic).
The only horizontal section allowed may be up to 2 m long and can have a maximum of three 90° bends.
If the smoke outlet pipe is not tted into the chimney ue, a vertical section, at least 1.5 m long complete with a wind guard,
must be installed (unless it is recommended not to for safety reasons). The vertical duct can be inside or outside however, if
installed outside it must be insulated.
If the smoke channel is tted into a chimney ue, the latter must be suitable for solid fuel and if it is wider than 150 mm in
diameter, the smoke channel must be inserted and sealed, insulating it from the masonry.
All sections of the smoke duct must be accessible for inspection. If it is xed, it must have inspection openings through which
it can be cleaned.
Possible installation layouts are shown in gures 1, 2 and 3 on pg. 18.
