Never forget that the coffee coming out of the appliance is very hot. Only move the jug
very carefully to avoid splashing.

person who is qualified, approved and competent to perform this kind of repairs in order to
avoid all danger. In case of need you should return the appliance to this electrician.
INITIAL OPERATION
• When you use your appliance for the first time, pour fresh water into the water tank and
switch on the appliance (without coffee).
• Once all the water has passed through, switch the appliance off and let it cool down.
When it is cold enough, repeat the process with fresh water. Repeat this process 3 times.
PREPARATION OF COFFEE
• Open the lid of the water tank and the filter holder.
• Pour the desired amount of water into the water tank. Make sure not to overfill by filling
maximum 12 cups of water (do not exceed the “MAX” indication on the water tank). The
number of cups can be read from the water level indicator.
• Use the permanent filter or insert a paper filter (size 4) in the filter holder and add the
desired quantity of ground coffee (1 teaspoon per cup, approximately 6g).
Please note:
fold the bottom and the side edges of the paper filter in such a way that it fits perfectly in
the filter holder.
• Never forget to close the lid before switching on your coffee maker.
• Put the jug with closed lid on the hotplate.
• Switch on the coffee maker by putting the switch in position “I”. The pilot light of the switch
will be illuminated, indicating that your appliance is in use. Thanks to the keep warm
function, your coffee is warmed up as long as the appliance is switched on and the jug is
situated on the hotplate.
• Take the glass jug and pour out the desired amount of coffee. Put the jug with the
remaining coffee back on the warming plate.
• When you remove the jug from the appliance, a non-drip valve will automatically operate
to stop any drops of coffee dripping onto the hotplate. Replacement of the jug
automatically opens the non-drip valve and allows remaining coffee to filter through into
the jug.
• Wait until the brewing process is finished and the filter has run empty before removing the
jug.
• However, we advise you not to let the appliance switched on for more than 2 hours and
make sure that you never let an empty jug on the hotplate. The hotplate will only stop
heating up when the switch is in the OFF position (i.e. position “0”).
DESCALING AND CLEANING
• We advise you to descale the coffee maker to prolong its life span. For descaling, only use
products especially made to descale coffee makers and follow their instruction manual.
Then rinse the appliance twice with fresh water, without coffee powder. Guarantee claims
will not be accepted for appliances that have not been descaled.
• Never use a dishwasher to clean the jug. Just clean it in soapsuds. The lid is detachable;
raise the lid out of its hinge.
• To clean the plastic parts of the appliance, use a damp, non-abrasive cloth.
