6. Before starting the equipment
6.1 Assembling the components
Some parts of the mower come disassembled. For
quick and easy assembly, read and follow the
instructions below.
Important! You will need the following additional
tools (not supplied) for assembly, and also for
maintenance work:
앬 A flat oil drip tray (for changing the oil)
앬 A 1 liter measuring jug (oil/petrol resistant)
앬 A petrol can
앬 A funnel (suitable for the tank’s petrol filler neck)
앬 Household wipes (to wipe up oil/petrol residue;
dispose of these at a filling station)
앬 A petrol suction pump (plastic, available from
DIY stores)
앬 An oil can with hand pump (available from DIY
stores)
Assembling the pushbar (Fig. 3-6)
1. Mount the bottom push-bar (Item 5) using the
quick release (Item 15) as shown in Fig. 3. Adjust
the pre-tension of the quick release correctly by
rotating the quick-release lever in the required
direction: Clockwise rotation = tight fit;
counterclockwise rotation = loose fit. Important!
Adjust the pre-tension so that the quick-release
lever can be pushed into the end position using
light pressure.
2. Using the quick release (Item 16), mount the
upper push-bar (Item 2) to the bottom push-bar,
as shown in Fig. 4 and 5. Assemble the lug (Item
23) between the upper push-bar and the washer.
Important! Adjust the correct pre-tension. See
point 1.
3. Fit the starter cable (Item 4) into the lug.
4. Fasten the starter cable with the cable clips (Item
13) as shown in Fig. 6.
Adjusting the push-bar (Fig. 7)
Open the two quick releases (Item 16).
Set the push-bar at one of the three (3) stop positions.
Close the quick release.
Installing the collector basket (Fig. 8-9)
Insert the collector basket at the lawn mower as
shown in Fig 9.
6.2 Setting the cutting height (Fig. 15-16)
Important! Adjust the cutting height only when
the engine is switched off and the plug boot has
been pulled.
앬 Before you begin to mow, check to ensure that
the blade is not blunt and that none of the
fasteners are damaged. To prevent any
imbalance, replace blunt and/or damaged blades
as a set only (if applicable). To carry out this
check, first switch off the engine and pull the
spark plug boot.
앬 The cutting height is centrally adjusted with the
cutting height adjustor lever
(Fig. 15/Item 9).
앬 Pull the adjustor lever out and select the desired
cutting height. The lever snaps into the desired
position.
앬 The adjusted cutting height is displayed at the
cutting-height scale (Fig. 16).
