2.0 Preparing the camera for usage

The EM6029 has been designed to be mounted on walls or ceilings. Use the following

steps to mount the camera correctly, so you can use the camera in combination with

the Eminent EM6001, EM6005 or EM6015 DVR unit.

1. Shut down the DVR recorder by pulling out the plug from the wall outlet.

2. Take the camera out of the packaging.

3. Use the mounting foot to mark the holes on the location you want to mount the

camera.

4. Drill the holes and fill these holes with mounting plugs.

5. Attach the camera foot with the screws to the wall or ceiling.

6. Mount the camera to the mounting foot.

7. Connect a video cable (BNC) to the camera.

8. Connect the other end of the video cable (BNC) to the EM6001, EM6005, or

6015.

9. The video cable can directly be connect to one of the video-inputs 1 till 4 of the

EM6001 or EM6005. In case of the EM6015, the video cable can be connected to

one of the video inputs 1 till 8.

10. Check whether your DVR recorder has been shut down properly and the DVR is

not connected to a wall outlet!

Note: Steps 11 to 15 are only necessary if you want to zoom in using your DVR

recorder.

11. Take a UTP network cable (For example: The Eminent EM6062) and remove

5cm of the mantle of both ends of the cable, so the bare UTP wires are exposed.

12. Now strip the cable at both ends. Make sure you maintain 5mm of bare copper.

In the following steps we have stripped the following UTP wires: Blue and blue-

white.

13. Connect the ‘485A’ of the DVR recorder. For connecting, use the blue UTP wire.

14. Connect the ‘485B’ of the camera to the ‘485B’ of the DVR recorder. For

connecting, use the blue-white UTP wire.

15. Now check whether you have connect the wires properly.

16. Now connect the power conversion cable to the camera by connecting the red

cable to the ‘12V’ connection of the camera. Connect the other cable to the

‘GND’ connection of the camera. Connect the other side of the power conversion

cable to the power adapter of the DVR recorder.

17. Connect your DVR recorder to a wall outlet to power the DVR recorder. If

correctly connected, the ‘POWER’ LED on the EM6029 will be lit.

18. Possibly you have to setup the EM6001, EM6005 or EM6015 for using this

camera (If you have not done this already, please refer to the supplied manual of

the EM6001, EM6005 or EM6015).

19. The camera is now ready to be used.

20. By using the button at the back of the camera, camera settings can be altered.

Settings are: ‘Auto focus’, ‘zoom’, ‘indoor’ and ‘outdoor’.
