Configuration end is indicated with the wording 'End '. Press
' ' agai n to save confi guration and the thermostat switches
to normal operation.
At any time, by pressing for a few s econds the ' ' key, the
configuration menu is quit without saving an y changes made.
When scrolling through the parameters list, with keys ' ' o r ' ',
the display shows the current value for that par ameter.
Use keys ' ' o r ' ' to m odify the se lected parameter's
configuration; th e value is quickly in creased or decreased b y
holding the keys' ' or ' ' pressed.
The ' TES T ' procedure i s autom ati cally acti vated after
configuration end and saving. During thi s test, th e thermostat
communicates i nformation on the output configuration to the
receiver, which the latter saves in a versatile manner and is
used to adjust the temperature in the wanted m ode.
It i s important, therefore, to run self -learning on the receiver
before modifying configuration; and i t i s important to check the
receiver correctly receives th e ' TEST ' controls a t the end of
configuration.
Reset installer configuration
To reset installer configuration in or der to b ring all parameters
to facto ry default values, access the configuration and, when
the displa y shows 'Con ', simultaneou sly press ' ' or ' ' for a
few seconds until the screen goes back to normal mode.
Description of configuration parameters
The i nstaller co nfiguration parameters a re shown in ta ble 1
and explained below.
Some installer parameters may not b e d isplayed as o nly
current co nfiguration required parameters are proposed
(the way of co nfiguring a p arameter, may exclude o ne or
more subsequent parameters).
P01: all ows using the thermostat (tr A) or r eceiver (r EC)
heating/cooling mode.
This param eter m ust only be modified to ' rEC ' (receiver)
when wanting to use the thermostat in association with a
programmable thermostat in a New W ave radio system or the
external he ating/cooling selection input or economy input of
the New Wave relay modules.
P02: allows to customise the regulation modes that can be
selected with the ke y ' '. The regulation modes available
are Comfort, Ec onomy and OFF: each of these can be enabled
or disabled by changing P02 .
Economy mode will be r eplaced b y Auto mode if P01 is set as
'rEC'.
The OFF mode will be replaced by Antifrost mode in case P03
is configured with an antifrost t emperature.
P03: with t his parameter th e Ant ifrost temperature can be set:
this will be maintained when the ther mostat is turned off.
The antifrost temperature c an be set in the ra nge 0.5 .. 25 ° C or
disabled by setting the parameter until the v alue ‘no’ appears.
By default this parameter is factor y set at 6 °C.
P04: room temperature offset.
The detected r oom temperature can be correct by ±10.0 °C
with the offset, in order to correct any systematic rea ding
errors due to therm ostat positioning in uns ui table areas for
detecting the room temperature.
By default the device is set with 0.0 °C offset.
P05: sampling time.
To censure a long life of the batteries, the thermostat waits a
period of t ime between two transmissions that can be s elected
as 3 or 10 minutes.
It is therefore normal that the temperature di s played is not
immediately updated; moreover for the same reason it can be
necessary t o wait some minutes until the output is turned on or
off.
The 3 minutes op t ion shoul d b e selected when the heating/
cooling system is fast, meanwhile with the common ‘slower’
heating s ystems based on r adiators or f loor heating, even t he
10 minutes option gives perfect acc uracy and comfort.
In any c ase, at any time, pressing the ' ' key f orces an
update of the system.
Choosing the longest interval delivers the longest battery life.
P06 and P07: these two parameters confi gure the temperature
range within which the set-point temperature can be set when
the thermostat is in heating mode. P06 is the l ower limit and
can be freely configured from 5.0 .. 35.0 °C, while P07 is the
higher limit that can be co nfigured i n a range fr om the lower
limit, chosen in P06 , up to 35.0°C.
Therefore, the maximum range i s 5 .. 35 °C and can be easily
reduced based on installation requirements.
P08 and P09: these two parameters confi gure the temperature
range within which the set-point temperature can be set when
the thermostat is i n cooling mode, with the sa me logic of
previous two points.
The set-point temperature limits are re -defined upon changing
of the cooling/heating setting. In the event the cooling/heating
selection i s o n the receiver (P01=rEC ), these two para meters
will not be used a nd the settings of p arameters P06 and P07
are always used.
P10: NTC sensor configurat ion.
The t hermostat is fact ory set for the operation with the internal
NTC (P10= Int ).
Alternatively to the in te rnal sensor a remote sensor can be
wired to the connector 'REMOTE S ENSOR', s hown with B in
Fig. 5 and set parameter P 10 as 'Ext': in this way t he internal
sensor is d isabled while t he externa l is enabled. Ensure to use
the proper type for remote sensor, and respect the maximum
wire length allowed.
P11: output PWM adj ust ment, allows choosi ng w hether the
receiver output must be dr iven in ON/OFF or P W M (Pulse

Width Modulation) mode.
Customisable hysteresis adjustment on param eter P13 will be
had with ON/OFF a djustment, whil e a propor tional adjustment
will be had with PWM adjustment (YES) that can be adapted
to the different r oom w i th pro portional b and, a dditional ti me
and cycle time parameters.
P12: extends drive mode of output to oth er channels; this
parameter is only significant if the thermostat is coupled with a
more channel receiver (DLP ---).
If this parameter i s set on 'YES', all receiver channels will be
configured with ON/OFF or PWM setting chosen in parameter
P11 and r elative parameters from P13 to P17 hysteresis,
proportional band, additional time and cycle time. The
thermostat can, i n this way, be used to co nfigure the output
drive mode on th e chan nel on which sel f -learning was made
and on the other channels available o n the receiver also. The
receiver h ysteresis can, for example, be changed i n this mode
or make an output become PW M, even i f the cha nnel will then
be driven by a simple, not configurable, thermostat.
P13: hysteresis, i t represents the hysteresis width used when
an ON/OFF adjustment (no) is chosen in P11 .
P14: PW M proportional ban d, it i s used for proportional
adjustment when the o utput i s configured in P11, for be in g
driven with PWM (YES).
P15: integrative t i me in m inutes, it is u sed for proportional
adjustment when the o utput i s configured in P11, for be in g
driven with PWM. The integrative action is not had if set zero.
P16: PW M cycle time, i t is th e duration of each PWM cycle i n
minutes, m eani ng every how many minutes is the variable
width impulse repeated.
P17: minimum time of PW M ON, meaning the minimum PWM
impulse width o r the minimum output switch-on tim e. This
parameter must be set with the actuator's opening time, i n the
event an e lectro-thermal actuator i s connected, o therwise
switch-ons for l ower tim es respect to ope ning tim e, do not
generate significant output actions.
P18: this parameter a llows you to choose w hether to activate
the defau lt display of the set-point temperature set by the user
instead of the normal display of the room temperature. If the
option is left to ‘no’, the display default shows t he room
temperature, whereas if the parameter is modified to ‘YES’ the
set-point temperature will be default d isplayed.
TEMPERATURE REGULATION
The thermostat can drive the output on r eceiver, in ON/OFF o r
PWM mode.
The valve's drive i n PWM mode allows proportional regulation
and, therefore, to regulate the room temperature with
maximum comfort and power saving.
However, different rooms require di fferent settings to obtain
precise adjustment.
The parameters responsible for adjustment quality are:
- P14 Proportional band
- P15 Integration time
The proportional band in °C is the difference between set-point
and room te mperature that ensures the valve is fully opened.
The narrower the proportional ban d, the more reactive is the
system upo n varying of the room te mperature. An e xcessively
narrow proportional band setting can gener ate room
temperature oscill ations or system in stability. An e xcessively
large setting may l ead to not reaching the set temperature o n
set-point, i n the room. No additional action is had when the
integration time is set at zero and the adj ustment is of P
(Proportional) type.
Adjustment will be of P + I (Propor tional + Integral) tpe by
setting an i ntegration time diff erent from zer o. The shorter the
integral time the longer is the integral action, vice -versa, a long
integral time generates a mild integral action. A mild or
missing integral action may prevent the set tem per ature o n set
-point from being reached in the room. An excessively strong
integral action may cause the room te mperature to oscillate.
These parameters may require modifying, depending on the
room being worked on, in order to obtain the best adjustment.
DISPLAY BACK-LIGHTING
Switch-on of the display Switch- off is autom ati c after 20
seconds from last button pressure.
BATTERIES INSERTION/REPL ACEMENT
The display p erm ane ntly shows the batteries charge sta te by
means of sy mbol ' ' . Batteries are char ged to maxi mum if
all three level indicators inside the symbol are on.
On the contrary, the batte ries are drained and must be
replaced when the symbol appears completely em pty ' '.
The symbol ' ' flashes when the batteries are excessively
drained to allow radio transmission.
For batteries replacement proceed as explained in points 1 , 2
and 4 at page 3.
