5.0 OPERATION

1. Start of machine tool (Fig. 1 page 28)

Set the forward-reverse-turn knob switch (2) into forward turn position, turn on the

start/stop switch (1), the spindle is in forward rotation. If reverse turn is necessary,

first stop the machine, then set the (2) into reverse turn position, then start.

2. Adjustment of main motion gearshift (Fig. 3 page 30)

The middle belt pulley (1) in main motion transmission can rotate freely by a small

shaft welded on slide plate (2), however, under the action of the spring (4), the axis

position of the left pulley (1) can move up and down, it can also swing forward and

backward, so as to meet automatically the wheel base. Requirement between the

spindle and motor shaft under a set perimeter of belt. So it acts as bidirectional

tightness. When changing speed, first loosen screw nut (3), place the belt at

desired position according to the designating-plate indications, tighten screw nut

(3) again (but don't crush the spring), then completing gearshift.

3. Adjustment of feed motion (Fig. 4 page 30)

The changes of machine automatic feed and various pitches are made by gear

change passing the rotation of main spindle into the leading screw at certain

proportion, driving the sliding seat move to and fro, through the screw nut fixed on

the sliding seat.

To acquire the desired thread and pitch:

a you must loosen the screwcap (3) of tight pulley, take off bult, loosen screw on

stop ring, take off stop ring (6) (1) then take off belt pulley (5) and gear at

spindle end (W).

b loosen the hexagonal screw (10), turn gear change carrier (11) forward, loosen

countersunk screw (8), take off stop ring (9) and duplex gears (Z

c loosen the hexagonal screw (13) again, turn clutch control (12) forward, take

off the clutch, take off spring stop ring with a spring pliers, then take off gear

(L).

After having taken off gears, according to reversed procedure, place the gears

selected from gear change table (indicated in designating plate) onto the leading

screw (L), middle shaft (Z

) and main shaft (W) respectively. Ensure rightnes.

Keep 1 mm gap when set the clutch away.

The turn on and turn off of automatic feed is performed with handle (15), which

controls the junction and separation of the clutch.

4. Adjustment of sliding seat and tailstock

The sliding seat and tailstock is coordinated with slideway by an open eccentric

hole, the fit gap with the slideway can be adjusted by the size of the opening with a

screw (as shown in Fig. 5).
