MACHINE INSTRUCTIONS
1. Do not start cutting until the motor has attained full
speed.
2. If, while operating the machine, the disc no longer
turns or the motor sounds overloaded, switch off the
machine immediately.
3. Keep easily flammable or fragile objects away from
the machine. The machine operator must avoid let-
ting his or her hands, face or feet come into contact
with the sparks caused when cutting.
4. Position your machine firmly on a flat, even surface.
5. Only operate the machine at the voltage stated on
the nameplate.
6. Never touch a sawn-off workpiece, always let it cool
down first.
7. Never attempt to cut workpieces which exceed the
permitted size.
8. During cutting, never position yourself in the direc-
tion of cutting. Always remain to one side.
9. Always leave safety devices installed.
10. Always ensure that you cut slowly and carefully.
Avoid applying the disc to the workpiece with a jerky
motion.
11. Never push the workpiece onto the disc with your
bare hands. Always use a chuck block and a guard to
fix the workpiece.
3. INSTRUCTIONS FOR
CONNECTING THE PROTECTIVE
CONDUCTOR
Equipment with a protective conductor connec-
tion:
Equipment with three-conductor mains power cable.
The protective conductor inside the mains power cable
has a green or green-yellow insulating cover. If the mains
power cable needs repairing or replacing, never connect
the protective conductor to the phase or neutral con-
ductor connections. Furthermore, such repair work
should only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
WARNING!
In case of malfunction or a defect in the machine,
the protective conductor offers the leakage current
the path of least electric resistance and hence reduces the risk
of electric shock. If you are ever in doubt about whether a pro-
tective conductor is wired up correctly, consult a qualified elec-
trician or service technician. Do not, under any circumstances,
change the machine's mains power plug if it does not fit into
the available socket; get a qualified electrician to install a soc-
ket for you. Never use extension leads which are not connec-
ted to the protective conductor. Get damaged or sheared
mains cables repaired immediately and do not continue to use
the machine until the mains cable has been replaced or repai-
red.
1. Securing a plug with a protective conductor
2. Mains socket
3. Protective conductor connection, mains plug
4. Protective conductor connection, socket
4. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Before securing or mounting accessories, always
unplug from the mains, to reduce risk of injury. Only
use recommended accessories; other accessories can cause
risk.
Using the safety chain
The machine is fitted with a safety chain, which locks the
handle when transporting and storing the machine. You
can release the safety chain by pushing the handle down
and pulling the chain off the hook. To lock the chain, pull
the handle down and pull the chain over the hook.
To reduce the risk of injury, only use approved discs
with this machine. Never use saw blades.
Removing and installing cutting discs
1. Release the safety chain, by pushing the handle down
and BY pulling the chain down off the hook.
2. Pull back the moving part of the safety device. The
hexagonal screw is now accessible. Push the spindle
lock down, and use the hexagonal screw wrench pro-
vided to loosen and remove the hexagonal screw
(turn anti-clockwise).
3. Remove the hexagonal screw, the lock washer, the
flat washer, the outer flange, the collar, and the disc if
installed.
4. Check that the (2) disc flanges are in good condition.
Remove any dirt, which could lead to uneven sawing
and disc damage.
5. Install the inner and outer flange of the disc, the col-
lar, the flat washer, the lock washer, and the hexago-
nal screw, as illustrated on the right. Press down the
spindle lock, whilst using the hexagonal screw
wrench provided to tighten the hexagonal screw
(turn clockwise).
6. Put the moving part of the safety device back into its
original position.
7. Before starting to cut, first do a test run, i.e. take a
step back, leave the motor running and ensure that
the disc is in good condition. After changing the disc,
always let the disc cutting saw test-run for three
minutes; thereafter, for one minute before starting
any routine work.
Adjusting cutting depth
The cutting depth adjustment plate can be moved, in
order to change the cutting depth. If the disc does not
touch the surface under the sawing table during cutting,
the cutting depth must be increased, due to disc wear
during use.
1. To change the cutting depth, loosen and remove the
wing nut (turn anti-clockwise).
2. Adjust the cutting depth adjustment plate, as shown
on the right, to set the new cutting depth.
3. Replace the wing nut and tighten it by turning it cloc-
kwise.
