The extraction system must not be set up in
rooms where there is a risk of explosion or
in the proximity of fl ammable substances
(e.g. solvents).
After unpacking, the extraction system can be
transported on a fork-lift truck or pallet truck. In
doing so, ensure that both transverse struts (front
and rear) of the sub-frame are seated securely on
the forks of the transport vehicle. Make sure that
the majority of the weight is located on the side of
the electric control panel.
To prevent the impermissible heating of the extrac-
tion system, the system must be located in a room
with a suffi cient supply of air.
2.2 Electrical connection
The operating voltage specifi ed on the
rating plate must match the voltage of the
mains power!
- For safety reasons, only operate the machine
using a totally earthed socket.
If the suction turbines turn in the direction opposite
to the specifi ed direction (3.1) during installation,
two of the phases of the connector (1.12/2.11) must
be swapped. This work may only be performed by
a qualifi ed electrician!
The control line (12 V~), for automatically switching
ON/OFF the extraction system, must be connected
to the connector (1.10/2.13).
2.3 Compressed air connection
For fi lter cleaning, fi ltered and dry compressed
air with a fl ow pressure of 6 bar is required at the
compressed air connection (1.9, 2.12). A pressure
regulator with fi lter and water separator must be
connected to this. Use the pressure regulator to
set a pressure of 6 bar.
A minimum input pressure of 6 bar is required
at the pressure reducer to ensure that the hub
rotates adequately, while 4 bar is required di-
rectly at the hub.
The turbine performs one cleaning cycle every
minute for 10 seconds. Approx. 350l of air is
required during each cleaning cycle. We recom-
mend installing a buffer container with a mini-
mum volume of 150l upstream of the turbine to
ensure the required air pulse is generated.
3 Initial operation
When in operation, the rotary switch (1.13/2.14)
must be in the AUTO position.
The extraction system is made ready for operation
by means of the main switch (1.1/2.1) (Ready for
operation = I, Off = O).
The control lamp (1.2/2.2) lights up when the sys-
tem is ready for operation.
The extraction fan only starts up when the extrac-
tion system is ready for operation and when it
receives a signal from the external control line.
Depending on the installation and pipe routing, this
signal can be triggered by switching on a connected
sander or opening a sliding valve.
The suction turbine sucks in air/dust through the
suction spout (1.11/2.6). The fi ltered air fl ows out
again through the outgoing air spout (1.8/2.11).
4 Filter system
The extraction system has an automatic filter
cleaning system based on the principle of the
counterfl ow process. The fi lter is cleaned regularly
during operation and after shutdown by means of
pressure surges.
4.1 Emptying and replacing the dust bag
During the following procedure, take care
not to raise dust more than is unavoid-
able.
- Turn off the main switch (1.1/2.1).
- Open the two clips (1.5/2.7) and pull out the dust
bag container (1.7/2.9).
- Close the dust bag (1.6/2.8) so that it is dustproof,
and dispose of it in accordance with statutory
regulations.
- Check the seal (3.2) for damage. Replace a dam-
aged seal immediately.
- Insert a new dust bag (4.1). Make sure that the
dust bag is seated at the edge of the dust bag
container and that the two openings (4.2) of the
dust bag are located in the dust bag container.
- Press the air out through the two openings (4.2)
located between the dust bag and dust bag con-
tainer. The dust bag must be located at the inner
wall of the dust bag container so that it is not
pulled upwards by the ventilating pressure cre-
ated when the extraction system is switched on.
- Insert the dust bag container and close the two
clips (1.5/2.7). The upper edge of the dust bag
container must make full contact with the seal
(3.2). If required, the clamping power can be ad-
justed using the screws on the clips (1.5/2.7).
4.2 Changing the fi lter
During the following procedure, take care
not to raise dust more than is unavoid-
able.
- Turn off the main switch (1.1/2.1).
- Only for Turbo 7501: open the screws (1.3) and
take off the cover (1.4).
- Only for Turbo 4001 and 3091: open the two clips
(2.5).
- Take off the extraction pipe (5.1/2.3) and com-
pressed air line (5.2/2.4).
