Information concerning the FLYER e-bike’s ope-

ration, maintenance, care and technical data can

be found in this manual and online on the respec-

tive websites for the manufacturers’ components.

Battery: Remove the battery from the

e-bike before you begin working on it

(i.e. inspection, repair, installation, main-

tenance, working on the chain). The

same applies when storing the e-bike or

transporting it on a car, train or plane.

There is a risk of injury if the electrical

system is unintentionally activated.

Do not open the battery.

There is the risk

of a short circuit.

Protect the battery from

heat (including permanent exposure to

sunlight),reandsubmersioninwater.

Do not store or use the battery near hot

orammableobjects.Itcouldexplode.

Keep batteries that are not in use away

from paper clips, coins, keys, nails,

screws or other small metal objects that

could short the contacts. A short circuit

between the battery contacts could lead

toburnsorare.Avoidanymechanical

loads on the battery. These could da-

mage the battery cells and lead to the

leakage of their inammable content.

Never place the charger and battery

near ammable materials. Only charge

the batteries when they are dry and in

areprooflocation. Theheatproduced

duringchargingleadstoarerisk.

If used incorrectly, liquid can leak from

the battery. Avoid any contact with this.

do accidentally come into contact with it.

You should also consult a doctor if the

liquid comes into contact with your eyes.

Leaked battery liquid can cause skin

irritations or burns. Fumes can escape

from the battery if it is damaged or used

incorrectly. In this case, seek fresh air

and consult a doctor if you feel any dis-

comfort. The fumes can irritate your air-

ways. Only ever charge the battery with

original FLYER chargers. The risk of a

re cannot be ruled out if non-original

FLYER chargers are used.

Only use the battery with e-bikes that

have the FLYER FIT System. This pro-

tects the battery against any dangerous

overload.

• Never remove component covers or parts. This

could expose live parts. Connecting points

could also be live. Maintenance work may only

be performed by your FLYER specialist dealer.

Improper work may lead to electrical shocks

and injuries.

• Take care not to damage or crush cables while

maintaining, cleaning, transporting or adjusting

your FLYER.

• If it is no longer possible to use the bike safely,

you may no longer use your FLYER. This is the

case when live parts or the battery are dam-

aged or when you detect cracks in the frame

or in components. The FLYER must be left un-

used and secured until it has been checked by

a FLYER specialist dealer.

• If your FLYER has a carbon frame, please note

the special warnings on the use of carbon in

this manual. In particular, the request to check

before each ride, compliance with torques,

transport methods and the prohibition of ex-

posing carbon parts to intense heat. Please

refer to chapter 9.2.

• If children are in the vicinity, you must pay par-

ticular attention. Prevent children from insert-

ing objects into the vehicle through openings,

forexample.Theymaysu󰀨eralife-threatening

electric shock.

• If the FLYER is to be xed in an assembly

stand, this must only be done at the seat

post. High-quality aluminum frames can be

damaged by the clamping force of the mount;

this also applies to a greater extent to carbon

frames. On FLYERs with carbon frames, the

clamp at the seat tube opening must not be

closed when the seat post is removed.

• Do not manipulate or tune your FLYER. This

applies in particular to changing the top speed.

Such a change can have criminal consequenc-

es and lead to serious injury or even death.
