• Read through the entire manual bef ore operating this product.
BEFORE EA CH FLIGHT :
Alwa ys check the transmitter and receiv er battery voltage to ensure
they ha ve enough remaining capacity to complete the flight.
Alwa ys exit prog ramming mode bef ore attempting to fly the model.
Only use the CGY750 with a 2.4GHz system such as the Futaba
F ASST™ system, or a PCM system. Use with an FM system is strong-
ly discouraged since interf erence can cause serious operational prob-
lems.
Gyro operating precautions:
The CGY750 requires 5-10 seconds to initialize when the power
is turned on. Do not move the helicopter and do not mo ve the tail
rotor , ailer on and elevator stic ks during this initialization or the
gyro ma y not initialize pr operly . Once the initialization pr ocess
has been completed the swash serv os and tail servo will move
several times indicating that the CGY750 is now read y for flight.
V er ify that the gyros are operating and compensating in the correct
direction before each flight. If the compensation direction is incorrect
on any axis the model will become uncontrollab le after takeoff .
V er ify that the gyro is operating in the desired mode.
V er ify that the gyro mounting pads are in good condition.
V er ify that the gyro wires are not contacting the frame of the heli-
copter .
The servo type parameters within the CGY750 must match the type
of servo you are using. Incorrect setting may damage the CGY750 or
the servos, possibly resulting in a loss of control during flight.
Alwa ys ensure that there is some slack in the gyro cab les to help
maximize perf ormance. Alwa ys use the supplied gyro mounting pads
to attach the gyro to the helicopter mechanics. Do not use a strap that
encompasses the CGY750 sensor . This ma y aff ect the over all perfor-
mance of the gyro .
Alwa ys allow the gyro to adjust to the surrounding en vironmental
temperature bef ore flight. A large temperature change during use will
cause drift and other operational issues.
The gyro sensor and control box ha ve a electroconductiv e coating.
Do not allow any po wer leads or other wiring to come into contact with
these items.
If y ou are s witching betw een Normal Mode and A VCS Mode in
flight, please keep in mind that y ou must hav e the gyro re-learn the
center position after making a trim change within the transmitter .
T o memorize the new center position simply flip the gain s witch on
the transmitter three times between Normal Mode and A VCS Mode
(Normal
t
A VCS
t
Normal
t
A VCS) within one second. The servo will
center indicating that the new center position has been memorized.
When oper ating the gyro in A VCS Mode, all compensation and
rev olution mixing must be disab led and any tail rotor or s wash offsets
for flight modes m ust be disabled.
When the CGY750 i s operated in A VCS mode the tail rotor or
sw ashplate servos will not center when tail rotor , aileron or rudder
stick is released. This is normal operation f or A VCS mode. The servos

may also mo ve to the e xtent while the model is being carried out to the
flight line. Before take off , you must visually center the tail rotor pitch
slider and lev el the s wash plate by using the tr ansmitter control sticks.
Y ou can also center the ser vos b y moving the tail rotor stick full left, then
full right, back to full left and then allow the stic k to center within one
second; the same method applies f or aileron and elev ator ser vos .
Do not drop the CGY750 sensor onto a hard surface or subject the
CGY750 sensor to a strong shock as this ma y damage the sensor .
Alwa ys use the supplied mounting pads or the Futaba replacement
mounting pads av ailable from y our local Futaba dealer .
Governor operating precautions:
Governor
When the throttle servo is connected to the CGY750, the batter y fail-
safe function within the CGY750 m ust be setup and enabled.
Throttle fail saf e function (transmitter setting): Use the fail saf e func-
tion for the channel that turns the gov ernor on and off to set the fail saf e
position to the point at which the gov er nor is turned off. With this setting,
when the system enters the fail saf e state, the go vernor will be turned
off, and the receiv er throttle signal (f ail safe position preset) will be out-
put directly .
When using the condition hold function on the tr ansmitter , alwa ys
set the throttle servo maximum operating point to less than the point at
which the gov er nor is activated. If this is not done the governor ma y ac-
tivate while in condition hold.
While preparing for flight or starting the engine, alwa ys ensure the
throttle remains below the gov ernor activation point and do not select
any flight modes that ma y activate the go vernor .
If you pref er to activate the go vernor while the model is still on the
ground, alwa ys ensure that you ha ve at least -5 deg rees of pitch in the
model before activ ating the gov ernor. This negative pitch is necessary
to prev ent an une xpected lift off as the gov er nor activates and the head
speed increases to the desired RPM.
P eriodically check the RPM sensor output to ensure proper gov ernor
operation. Due to the high level of vibr ation and centrifugal forces the
magnet may come loose or the sensor alignment ma y change. Every
10th flight verify that the magnet and sensor are properly mounted.
