10.1.3 Using the chainsaw in the tree
An analysis of accidents with these chainsaws during tree care work shows
that the main cause is improper one-handed use of the chainsaw. In most
accidents, users do not assume a safe working position that allows them to
hold the chain saw by both handles, which causes an increased risk of injury
from the following:
lack of a firm grip on the kickback of the chainsaw;
lack of control of the chain saw, making it easier for it to come into contact
with climbing ropes and with the user's body (especially with the left hand
and arm), and loss of control due to an unsafe working position and therefore
contact with the chain saw (unexpected movements during work with the
chain saw).
