• A moment of carelessness when connecting and starting up the generator can lead to
severe injuries.
• Wear protective gloves and, if necessary, safety goggles as required by the
circumstances during startup, maintenance and repair work. Taking appropriate
personal protective measures reduces the risk of injury.
Residual hazards
Even if the power generator is used correctly, there is always a residual risk that cannot be
excluded. The following potential hazards can be derived from the type and design of the
generator:
− Contact with electrical connections and components of the power generator (electric
shock),
− Unforeseen, sudden defects in moving parts of the generator,
− Damage to hearing if no prescribed hearing protection is worn during continuous
operation,
− Inhalation of exhaust gases from the combustion engine,
− Skin contact with gasoline.
Additional safety instructions
• Turn off the power generator under the following conditions:
− Before filling up with fuel (let the components cool down first),
− if left unattended for an extended period,
− before checking, cleaning or otherwise working on the generator if the unit
starts to vibrate excessively.
• During operation, ensure that no persons (especially children) or animals are in the
operating area.
• Only use the generator set in dry conditions. Keep the pump-engine unit away from
rain and moisture.
• Do not leave the power generator unattended during more prolonged work
interruptions and park the unit after the operation in a secured location that is not
accessible to unauthorized persons.
• Always switch off the generator when transporting it to other operating locations.
• Make sure that all guards are in place when using the generator.
• Never operate an incompletely assembled generator or one with unauthorized
modifications.
