USER’S MANUAL
2
1. INTRODUCTION
The FYSIC FX-5725 consists of a wired phone (called ‘wired phone’ in this
user’s manual) and a wireless handset with a charger.
The wired phone is provided with a very clear and illuminated keypad,
large buttons, a loud ringtone and an amplied receiver sound. In addition
to a phonebook memory for 50 contacts, the phone offers 2 direct memory
buttons for frequently used numbers or for e.g. emergency services such
as the police, your doctor or the general emergency number.
The wireless handset also offers a phonebook memory for 50 contacts,
2 direct memory buttons, a large, illuminated and clear display and large,
illuminated push-buttons.
You can use both the wired phone and wireless handset to make calls
holding the receiver to your ear or by using the speaker function, allowing
your other house members to listen in or to keep your hands free to make
e.g. notes.
Between the wired phone and wireless handset you can make intercom
calls free of charge and you can forward calls from an outside line.
When you’re subscribed to the Caller-ID service, the number or the name
of the person calling you will be shown on the displays of both the wired
phone and the wireless handset.
ATTENTION:
You can NOT make calls with the wireless handset during a power out-
age. However, you can make calls with the wired phone by picking up the
receiver and dialling the number. Also the speaker function is unavailable
during a power outage.

[ Call barring ] / [ SOS number ]
The [ Call barring ] option allows you to program 4 numbers that may
not be dialled and [ SOS numbers ] allows you to program excep-
tions, therefore numbers that are allowed to be dialled
Example:
Barred number 1 = 06
Barred number 1 = 00
Barred number 1 = 0900
Barred number 1 = 0800
SOS number 01 = 06550
SOS number 02 = 06123456
SOS number 03 = 0900888
SOS number 04 = 0032
this leads to the following situation:
All numbers starting with 06 are barred with the exception of the
numbers starting with 06550 or 06123456
All numbers starting with 00 are barred with the exception of the
numbers starting with 0032
All numbers starting with 0900 are barred with the exception of the

All numbers starting with 0800 are barred
A ‘barred’ or ‘SOS’ number may contain up to 8 digits
(‘0’ = barring everything starting with 0, ‘01234567’ = barring every-
thing starting with 01234567).
When dialling a barred numbers, ‘Refused’ will appear in the display
and dialling is cancelled.
You do not have to use all combinations. You can simply program
‘00’ for the ‘barring’ option to make sure no international calls can be
made.

11 ANSWERING MACHINE
11.1 INTRODUCTION:
The FX-5725 telephone is provided with a digital answering machine for
answering telephone calls when you’re away. A preset notication text or
your personal notication text will be played and the caller can register
a message of up to 180 seconds. The total memory capacity of the
answering machine is 15 minutes, this includes the outgoing notication
texts.
The answering machine functions with several notication texts, OGM-1
and OGM-2
(OGM = OutGoing Message).
OGM-1 is the text inviting the caller to leave a message after the beep,
OGM-2 is the text when the caller is not invited to leave a message.
The answering machine is built into the wired phone, but operating the
answering functions and listening to left messages can also be done using
the wireless handset.
You can also listen to the messages and set the answering functions
remotely.
11.2 SPECIFICATIONS:
length of outgoing messages: 120 sec max.
length of incoming messages and MEMO message: adjustable to 90-
120-150-180 sec. max.
Total memory capacity: 15 min (incl. notication texts)
number of ringtones before answering: adjustable to 2-4-6-8-Save (for
‘save’ see also paragraph 11.3, item ‘tone delay’ and paragraph 11.5)

(see illustrations on page 3 and 6). You can set the maximum record-
ing time under ‘recording time’ (see further in this manual), or you
can press the MENU/OK button to end the recording before the time
is up.
[ OGM1 ] & [ OGM2 ]
This allows you to compose the notication texts:
Play OGM: to play and check the notication text
Del all old: to delete your own notication text and restore the
default factory notication texts
Record OGM: this allows you to record your personal notica-

text will be played 1x for you to check.
51
Don’t forget that by recording the OGM-1, you’re inviting the
caller to leave a message after the beep. OGM-2 is the text for
when the caller cannot leave a message.
[ Call screen ]
This option allows you to listen in on callers leaving a message via
the speaker.
[ Ring delay ]
Use this option to set the number of ringtones before the answering
machine accepts the call. See paragraph 11.5 for the ‘Save’ option.
[ ICM length ]
Here you can determine the maximum recording time for each mes-
sage, including the MEMO message. You can choose from 90 - 120
- 150 and 180 seconds.
[ Voice lang ]
Use this option to set the language for the factory notication texts to
English, Dutch, German or French.

A remote code is required for operating the answering machine
remotely. The default code set in the factory is 1-2-3-4, but you can
adjust the code in this menu.
*: when the answering function is set to ‘Off’, the answering machine will still
accept the call after 10 ringtones, but instead of the notication text a beep
tone will sound. You can now remotely enable the answering function if so
desired or listen to the messages.

WHEN RECEIVING A CALL:
After the set number of ringtones, the answering machine will
accept the call and play the notication text, either the factory
text or your own notication text.
Depending on the settings, a beep tone will sound after the noti-
cation text is played and the caller can leave a message or the
call will be disconnected after the notication text.
LISTENING IN / PICKING UP:
Attention, listening in is only available using the wired phone,
you cannot listen in using the wireless handset.
When the ‘listen in’ function is enabled, you’ll not only hear your

been unplugged from the mains socket, and the phone connector
has been disconnected from the phone socket.
Do not install the phone during a lightning storm.
Do not install a phone connection point in a wet or moist
environment.
Do not touch uninsulated phone or adapter cables, unless they are
disconnected from the phone network or the mains power.
13.3 PLACEMENT:
Preferably, do not place the device on surfaces that have been
treated with cellulose; the rubber feet can leave traces on these.
Do not place the phone in the direct vicinity of other phones or other
electronic (medical) devices, TL tubes and other gas discharge
lamps; the emitted radio waves of these (and other) wireless
phone(s) may disrupt the functioning of the equipment, or the emitted
signals of the equipment disrupt the functioning of the phone.
62
13.4 RANGE:
The range of the phone is up to 300 meters in the open field and
up to 50 meters inside; the range depends on local circumstances.
When you’re out of range of the wired phone, the word [ Searching ]
and the antenna symbol ( ) will start flashing in the display. In this
situation, you can no longer call using the wireless handset nor can
others call you.
When the power adaptor of the wired phone is unplugged from the
wall socket or when the mains power is interrupted, the handset also
loses contact with the wired phone, indicated by the flashing antenna
symbol.
13.5 POWER SUPPLY HANDSET:
The display of the handset is provided with a built-in battery
capacity meter (
). When the battery symbol is full, the batteries
are charged; when the battery symbol is empty or only half full, the
batteries should be recharged. During recharging this symbol will
scroll.
For optimal use, we recommend you to place the handset onto the
charger every evening. This does not have an adverse effect on the
rechargeable batteries.
Rechargeable batteries may not be exposed to re or extreme heat.
Never puncture or disassemble batteries, their contents are chemical
and poisonous.
13.6 HEARING AIDS:
Users of older models hearing aids always shall keep into account a
possible uncomfortable buzzing tone when using DECT phones.
13.7 MEDICAL EQUIPMENT:
It is possible that enabled DECT phones interfere with sensitive
medical equipment. When the phone is kept in the vicinity of the
medical device, interference can occur. Do not place a DECT phone
on or near a medical device, not even when it is in standby mode.
63
13.8 POWER FAILURE:
In case of failure of the mains power, this phone cannot be used. You
can still make calls with the wired phone. (only using the receiver, not
the speaker function)
13.9 EAVESDROPPING:
Eavesdropping on a DECT phone is virtually impossible. Not only
shall one be within reach of the DECT phone, one also needs
expensive equipment.
13.10 MAINTENANCE:
Clean the phone only with a moist cloth; do not use any chemical
detergents.
The adapter and the phone cable shall be disconnected before
cleaning.
13.11 ENVIRONMENT:
The packaging of this telephone can be collected as
old paper. However, we recommend you to save it, to
adequately protect the phone during transport.
When replacing this telephone, please return it to the
supplier to ensure environment-friendly processing.
64
14 POSSIBLE PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS
14.1 NOTIFICATIONS IN THE DISPLAY:
[ BABY CALL ]
You have enabled the ‘SOS call’ function, allowing you to only dial
one pre-programmed number. Refer to paragraph 10.1 for more
information regarding this function
[ NO LINE ]
This notification means that the wired phone isn’t connected with the
telephone network. Check whether the plug has been accidentally
removed from the telephone socket or whether the cable is damaged.
[ LINE BUSY ]
This text appears in the display of the handset(s) when you’re calling
with the wired phone or vice versa. This text also appears when the
answering machine has answered a call.
[ REJECT ]
This message means you just tried dialling a number you set as a
barred number. For this function, see paragraph 10.3.
[ KEY LOCKED ]
The keypad is locked. Press and hold the * (asterisk) button for 2
seconds to unlock the keypad. If this happens often, you’ve probably
enabled the automatic key lock. For this, see paragraph 10.1.
14.2 PROBLEMS WITH OUTGOING CALLS:
No dialling tone.
The outside line is being used by another unit. Wait until that call
has ended and try again.
Check the connection between the wired phone and you telephone
socket (when in doubt, connect a different phone to your telephone
socket).
65
The power supply is interrupted. Check whether the adaptor
underneath the wired phone is plugged in and whether the power
adaptor is connected to a wall socket marked 230V (you can verify
this by e.g. connecting a table lamp to the socket).
14.3 PROBLEMS WITH INCOMING CALLS:
No notification of incoming calls:
The bell is disabled; enable it. (see paragraph 10.1 and 10.2)
Check the connection between the phone and your telephone
socket (when in doubt, connect a different phone to your telephone
socket)
You are continuously busy:
Check whether the other unit (or another phone) is keeping the line
busy.
Connect another phone to your phone connection, and use this to
check whether the malfunction originates from your connection or
your carrier.
14.4 PROBLEMS WITH CALLER-ID:
You’re not receiving Caller-ID information in the display.
Check whether your telephone service provider sends these signals
(some service providers require you to subscribe to this service)
14.5 OTHER:
The display of the wireless handset remains blank:
Batteries are empty, please recharge them.
The handset does not have contact:
You’re too far from the wired phone; reduce the distance.
The wired phone is switched off. Check and correct this.
The handset is not registered with the base station (anymore);
register it (again). (see paragraph 12.1)
66
In case the failure has not been solved with aforementioned solutions:
Remove the batteries from the handset, and unplug the power supply
adapter and the phone connector of the wired phone from their
sockets; connect everything again after several minutes.
