¤ Connect power adapter 1
and Phone jack 2 to the
base and place the cable
recesses .
Please ensure the pow er
lead is fully inserted.
Please note:
u T he mains adapter must alwa ys be connected, as the Phone will not
operate without a mains connection.
u Alwa ys use the power adapt er and Phone cord supplied . Pin
connections on T elephone cables can v ary.
Connecting the charging cr adle (if included)
¤ Plug the mains adapter into the
plug socket 2 .
¤ Connect the flat plug from the
mains adapter 1 .
If you need to disconnect the plug from the
charging cradle , press the release butt on 3 and
disconnect the plug 4 .

Q: There is no dial tone .
A: Press call butt on for 2 seconds (long press) t o obtain dial tone.
A short press opens the redial list.
Q: The line is crackling / not clear .
A: Have y ou used the new line cable provided? Please do not use an old cable.
Q: The display is not clear / seems to be br oken.
A: T he display is prot ected by a plastic film, please make sure you hav e removed
the protective film.
Q: The handset is not register ed.
A: If your handset is not register ed, please follow the Reg istration handset proce-

Pr eparing the handset
Initial charging and discharging of the batt eries
¤ Inser t the batteries the right wa y round. T he
polarity is indicated
in/on the battery compar tment.
¤ T hen slide the battery cover back into the
main casing until it clicks into place .
If you need to open the battery cover ,
for instance t o replace the batteries ,
place your fingertip in the groov ed area
on the top of the cov er and slide down.
The correct charge status can only be displa yed if the
batteries are first fully char ged and discharged.
¤ Place the handset in the charger
for 6 hours.
Then remov e the handset from the charger ,
make and receiv e Phone calls, setup the Phone
etc. and do not put it on the charger until the
batteries are fully dischar ged.

Setting the date and time
Set the date and time so that the correct date and time can be assigned t o
incoming calls, and so that the alarm can be used .
¤ Press the key belo w MENU on the
display screen to open the main
menu.
¤ Press the key belo w OK on the display
screen to confirm y our selection.
The
Date/Time menu item appears on the
display .
¤ Press the key belo w OK on the display
screen to open the input field .
¤ T he active cursor position is flashing.
Enter day , month and y ear as an
6-digit number via the handset,
e.g. 150912 for
15.09.2012.
¤ Press the key belo w OK on the display
screen to confirm y our setting.
¤ Press the bott om of the control
key ...
... until the
Settings menu item
appears.
Setting the date and time
Message indication
Message Indication Key ‘ on handset will flash to indicate one or all of the
following ev ents:
u missed calls (if caller ID is enabled for y our line numbers will be shown)
u new messages on the answer machine
T o r etrieve y our messages, just press the flashing ‘ key on your handset.

Registra tion handset
Y ou can r egister up t o four handsets to your base . Y ou can also register other
Gigaset handsets and handsets from other devices with GAP functionality .
Y our handset should alr eady be reg istered by default. Nev er theless, if your
handset is flashing Put into base y ou have to r egister your handset.
If your handset is flashing Base then it can be that:
u Y our base station is not switched on, please check if the power supply is
connected properly .
u T her e is too much distance between the handset and base.
Automa tic registering pr ocedure
In the case the automatic registering pr ocedure failed or you want t o
register an additional handset, use the manual r egistration proc edure.
Manual registra tion procedur e
1. On the handset:
MENU ¤ Settings ¤ OK ¤ Handset ¤ OK ¤ Register HS ¤ OK ¤ enter the system
PIN for the base and press
OK. Default PIN = 0000
2. On the base station:
Within 60 seconds of ent ering the system PIN, press and hold the
registration/pag ing key (min. 3 seconds). Registration takes appro x.
1 minute.
Place the handset
with the display
facing up in the base
station.
The handset regist ers
automatically .
Registration can take
up to 5 minutes.
Do not remov e the handset from
the base station during this time.
