Commissioning
Before putting into operation, observe Chapter 2 “For your safety”.
Danger to health due to escaping spraying pesticides! A leaking device or
leaking components may result in draining or spouting of spraying pesticides. You should
therefore observe the following safety instructions:
! Prior to each use, check the device to ensure fault-free condition and leak-tightness.
To perform the leak test, fill the container with water!
! Inspect all screw joints for tight fitting.

! Activate the safety/vent valve – red button – until the device is depressurised.
! Prior to filling the sprayer, observe the instructions relating to particular hazards (R-phras-
es/German Hazardous Substances Ordinance [GefStoffV]) and safety advice (S-
phrases/German Hazardous Substance Ordinance [GefStoffV]) that are provided on the
chemical containers according to regulations.
! Observe max. fill level (see technical data). The regulations of the spraying agent manufac-
turer specify the correct dosage and concentration.

Use the supplied filling strainer for filling the tank. The filling strainer
supplied should be used for pre-filtration, especially when spraying pesticides are applied and particu-
larly when powder-based concentrates are used.

You may be exposed to hazards that could injure you when handling the
device and the spraying pesticides. You must therefore always comply with the safety instruc-
tions/safety measures in this user manual, as well as the following instructions:
! The device must only be operated when suspended in a vertical or steep upright position.
! Pressing the actuation lever down on the quick closure valve initiates the spraying process. This
can be interrupted immediately by releasing the actuation lever.
! The pumping procedure makes it possible to influence the spray pressure at the nozzle.
! Perform re-pumping if the spray pressure falls.
! In order to ensure that the spray pressure is as even as possible and that the spray cycle is as long
as possible, the 'pressure regulator on the quick closure valve' * must be set (see figure 19) to the
prescribed spray pressure (see nozzle table, Chapter 7.1).
! If the pressure in the container falls below the set pressure, pump a little to ensure uniform
spraying of the liquid.
! Ensure uniform wetting of the objects when spraying.
! A higher pressure must be set on the pressure regulator when using special spray pipes (exten-
sion pipes, wide spray pipes, etc.).
* Only for device versions 410T and 510T.
