Before Initial Use

1. Remove all packaging materials and any possible protective ﬁ lms used for protection

during transportation. Never remove the rating plate and any possible warnings.

2. Wipe down the device with a clean, damp cloth. Clean the permanent ﬁ lter, the ﬁ lter

holder and the coffee cup with mild detergent and warm water.

3. Before you enjoy your ﬁ rst coffee, we recommend that you carry out a trial run to

remove any possible production residues in the water system. To do this, follow the

instructions in the “Set-Up and Connection” and “Use” chapters.

When the device is ﬁ rst used, production-related additives (e.g. grease) may

cause a small amount of smoke and / or an odour to be produced. This is normal

and not a device defect.

4. Perform this process twice. Do not drink this coffee!

Set-Up and Connection

PLEASE NOTE!

■ Do not place the device below kitchen wall units or similar cupboards. The rising

steam could cause damage to them!

■ The surfaces of furniture may possibly contain elements which can attack and soften

the adjustable feet of the device. If necessary, place a suitable pad below the adjust-

able feet.

1. Always set up the device with a clear space at the sides (at least 20 cm) and clear

space above it (at least 30 cm) on a ﬂ at, solid and heat-resistant surface that is re-

sistant to splashing.

2. Completely unwind the mains cable and plug into a properly installed plug socket that

is easily accessible.

PLEASE NOTE!

■ Do not pour milk or other liquids into the water tank. Only ever use water to make

coffee!

■ Never overﬁ ll the permanent ﬁ lter.

■ Never operate the device without a suitable vessel placed below the coffee outlet.

The device switches off automatically after the brewing process. It has overheat-

ing protection which prevents the device from being switched on again directly

after a brewing process for safety reasons. After a brewing process, you should

therefore wait for a few minutes until the device has cooled down before you start

another brewing process.

1. Open the water tank cover and pour water into the water tank.

2. Insert the ﬁ lter holder into the ﬁ lter compartment.

3. Insert the permanent ﬁ lter into the ﬁ lter holder.
