■ CAUTION: Note the information on cleaning provided in the

“Cleaning and storage” chapter.

Risks of injury

■ Keep children and animals away from the device and packaging material! There is a

danger of injury and suffocation.

■ CAUTION: Danger of scalding from heat and hot steam! Hot steam may be

emitted from the device during operation. You should therefore keep your head and

hands out of the danger zone.

■ Always allow the device to cool off completely before you clean and / or store it.

■ Make sure that the connected mains cord does not present a trip hazard. The cord

must not hang down from the surface on which the device is placed in order to pre-

vent the device from being pulled down.

■ The device should only be used and stored out of the reach of children. The mains

cable must also be kept out of the reach of children.

Danger of Electric Shock and Fire

■ Use the device only in enclosed spaces.

■ Always set up the device with a sufﬁ cient amount of clear space on all sides and

clear space above it (around 30 cm) in order to prevent any build-up of heat.

■ Do not use the device if highly ﬂ ammable gases are present in the air. Never operate

the device in the vicinity of a gas source.

■ Never set up or use the device in the vicinity of highly ﬂ ammable materials (curtains,

textiles, etc.).

■ Do not place any combustible materials or materials that melt easily (such as card-

board, plastic, paper or candles) on or in the device.

■ Do not cover the device during operation in order to prevent it from catching ﬁ re.

Provide adequate ventilation while the device is in operation.

■ In the event of a ﬁ re:

– It is essential to remove the mains plug immediately.

– Hot fat / oil may catch ﬁ re if it is overheated. Do not extinguish burning fat / oil with

water, but smother the ﬂ ames with a ﬁ reproof blanket or similar cloth or extinguish

a fat ﬁ re with a ﬁ re extinguisher which is capable of extinguishing ﬁ res involving

cooking fat!

– Do NOT use water to extinguish the ﬁ re as the steam can pose an additional risk

of scalding.

– Dispose of the device.

■ In order to avoid electric shocks, do not use the device near water or other liquids.

Set up the device so that the mains cable and the plug cannot come into contact with

water or other liquids.

■ Never immerse the device or cable in water or other liquids. If the device falls into

water, turn off the power supply immediately. Do not attempt to pull the device out of

the water when it is connected to the mains supply!

■ Never touch the device, the mains cord and the mains plug with wet hands when

these components are connected to the mains supply.
