Be familiar with the various functions of
your car radio before starting a journey.
í Volume and street traffic
Setting the volume too high can endanger
yourself and other persons in traffic.
Always set the volume so that you can
hear environmental noises (e.g. honking,
emergency vehicles, police vehicles, etc.).
You can set the volume with the
Q
VOLUME W buttons.
í The volume can increase significantly
with traffic announcements. See also
page 15, EXPERT
ß`.
í Data tracks as well as audio tracks are
recorded on multimedia CD’s. If you play
such a CD despite the warning, it can lead
noises with volumes which are a danger
to traffic. You can also damage your out-
put stage and speakers.
Extended range of functions
The EXPERT control level allows you to use a
range of functions extending beyond basic
operations without losing your overview.
Operation with car telephone (phone)
You can connect your system with your car
phone or radio equipment.
The car radio is muted when the car phone or
radio equipment is in operation.

page 14, EXPERT

A sign with the symbol above can be found at
the rear side of your device.

The car radio can be switched on and off at
any time.
To do this, press the
¡
IO
button.
Switching on and off with the ignition switch
of the vehicle.
To do this, you must switch on the car radio
once while the ignition is switched on. It then
switches on and off automatically with the
ignition.

EXPERT-control level. See
page 14, EXPERT

ǺǺ If the ignition switch remains switched off,
the radio switches off automatically after an
hour. See page 18/A4.
í The automatic aerial is extended when the
system is switched on!
Always switch the system off before you
drive into a car wash, for example!
