Switching on and off
1 Press the »O« control knob to switch the radio on and off.
Note:
If the radio is switched on with the ignition of the vehicle on, it is
afterwards automatically switched off and on again with the
ignition. To deactivate this function, see page 35, EXPERT
control level.
If the ignition is off, the radio switches off automatically after
one hour to spare the car battery. See also page 42, A 4.
Caution!
When the radio is switched on, the automatic aerial is
extended. Therefore, before visiting a car wash, for example,
always switch the radio off.
Safety switching function
Even when switched off, the radio switches on automatically when a
cassette is inserted or a connected telephone or CB radio receives a
call. This causes the automatic aerial to be extended. For this
reason, before visiting a car wash, for example, do the following:
1 Press the »
O« control knob until »STBY OFF« appears in the
display.
– The radio switches off and can be switched on again only with
the control knob.
Note:
As alternative, it is also possible to switch off the telephone or
the CB radio, or to remove the control unit.
Volume and sound settings
Setting the volume
1 Turn the »O« control knob.
– The last volume setting appears in the display (scale from
»00« to »46«).
