Supply volltages
Blade contacts A (Fig. 4):
A 8 Earth connector (cross section at least 2.5 mm
2
for plus
and earth lead). Connect to terminal 31 (earth) of the
vehicle.
A 7 Connector for + 12 V operating voltage (cross section at
least 2.5 mm
2
for plus and earth lead). Connect to
terminal 30 (permanent plus) of the vehicle.
A 6 Connector for instrument illumination. If A 6 is con-
nected to the terminal 58 of the vehicle, the illumination
of the switched off radio can be controlled with the con-
trol of the instrument panel illumination provided the
vehicle’s headlights are switched on.
A 5 + 12 V switching voltage output (max. 0.5 A). When the
radio is switched on, the switching voltage is present at
the blade contact A 5 and serves for extending and
retracting the automatic aerial, as operating voltage for
an aerial amplifier, etc.
A 4 Connector for + 12 V ignition voltage. Connect to termi-
nal 15 of the vehicle if the radio is to be switched on and
off with the ignition of the vehicle.
N ote:
The connector A 4 may also remain free. In this case the radio
switches off automatically after one hour if the ignition is
switched off.
A 2 Phone mute connector. When operating a connected car
telephone or CB radio, the radio is muted and the dis-
play indicates “PHONE”. See also page 35, chapter
“EXPERT Control Level”.
Note:
A 2 must be connected from the mute output of the telephone/
CB radio to earth.
A 1 SCV connector (+) for speed-controlled volume control.
