General instructions for laser devices
You will find a symbol similar to the one shown here on the bottom of the
device. CLASS 1 LASER PRODUCT means that the laser is designed in such
a way as to ensure that the maximum permissible emission value cannot be
exceeded under any circumstances.
If operating devices or methods other than those specified here are employ-
ed, it may lead to dangerous exposure to emissions. Invisible laser radiation
is emitted if the CD compartment is opened and the safety locking mecha-
nism is shorted. Do not expose yourself to this radiation.
The device is suitable for playing music CDs displaying the logo shown here
(CD-DA) and for CD-Rs and CD-RWs with audio data.
When burning CD-R and CD-RWs with audio files, various problems may
arise which under certain conditions may lead to interference in playback.
Causes for this can be faulty software and hardware settings or even the CD
itself. Should such problems arise, contact the customer services of your CD
burner/software manufacturer or search for information about this, for
example in the Internet.
When you make audio CDs observe all legal guidelines and ensure that the
copyrights of third parties are not infringed.
Preparation
1 Switch on the Radio Recorder and set the »RADIO•TAPE/OFF•CD«
switch to »CD«.

« display lights up. If no CD has been inserted then »00«
will appear in the display followed by »no«.
2 Open the lid of the CD compartment (on the top side of the device).

3 Insert a CD in the compartment with its label facing upwards.
4 Close the lid of the CD compartment (»00« will appear in the display).
The CD player starts up and scans the index of the CD.
– The total number of tracks appears in the display.
CD playback
1 Press » PLAY/PAUSE ı II« to start playback.
– The CD LED » ı« glows.
– The display shows the number of the first track.
– Playback stops at the end of the CD.
2 Use » PLAY/PAUSE
ı II« to switch to playback pause.
– The CD LED flashes.
3 Press » PLAY/PAUSE
ı II« to resume playback.
4 Press » STOP ■« to end playback.
– The CD LED stops glowing.
