CONNECTING AND PREPARATION
________
Connecting the aerial, television set, VCR-SAT module
and mains cable
Note:
If your television is equipped with Megalogic functions, the video recorder
and the television set must be connected with the supplied EURO-AV cable;
see step 3.
If you wish to connect a VCR-SAT module with an SAT control socket to the
video recorder, you must connect it before making the settings; start with step
2 from the example.
1 Insert the aerial cable of the house aerial in the aerial socket
»ANTENNA IN« of the video recorder.
2 Insert the supplied aerial cable in the socket »RF OUT« of the video recorder
and in the aerial socket of the television set.
3 Insert the supplied EURO-AV cable in the socket »LINE1(I) IN/OUT« of the
video recorder and in the AV 1 socket of the television set.
– This connection provides for better picture and sound quality during
playback.
– Stereo sound can only be played back on the stereo-television set via this
connection.
4 If a VCR-SAT module with an SAT control socket is connected to the video
recorder:
Connect the »LINE 2 (II) IN/DECODER« jack of the video recorder and the
VCR jack of the VCR-SAT module with a commercially available EURO-AV
cable (connection 4A).

6 Insert the mains cable of the VCR-SAT module in the jack »230V~ 50–60Hz«
of the VCR-SAT module.
Insert the mains cable plug in the socket.
– The VCR-SAT module is now in stand-by mode.
Caution:
The only way to isolate the video recorder and the VCR-SAT module from the
mains supply is to pull the plug.
Note:
If the video recorder is connected to a television set with a 16:9 format, ob-
serve the setting in the section, ”Operation with a format 16:9 television” on
