Installing the Set
These operating instructions assume that
your car radio has been correctly connected
and installed by your dealer.
If you wish to install the unit yourself,
you should read the information in "Installa-
tion and Removal" on pages 7/8 and refer to
the illustrations at the beginning of these
instructions.
Traffic Safety
Familiarize yourself with the various functions
of your car radio before starting off on a jour-
ney (for example, learn how to store a sta-
tion).
Volume:
Operating your radio at high volume while dri-
ving can endanger you and others. Therefore,
always adjust the volume so that you can still
safely hear noises around you and outside the
car (e.g., horns, rescue vehicles, police cars,
etc.).
Aerial
Your car radio is designed for the connection
to a 75Ω aerial (impedance).
Extending the aerial cable to the rear of the
car can, for example, impair signal reception.
Switching On/Off
– with the ignition/starter switch
You can use the car's ignition/starter switch
to switch the radio on and off after it has been
switched on with the
r multi-function con-
trol (see supply voltages / A4 +12 V stand by
voltage, page 8).
– on the car radio
You can use the
r multi-function control to
switch the radio on and off when the car radio
– is turned on with the ignition/starter switch
or
– is not connected to the ignition/starter
switch.
