Identity Card

The identity card for your car radio

contains the type, the serial number and the

code number for coding.

The serial number is identical with the num-

ber embossed in the frame of your car radio.

The Identity Card facilitates criminal investiga-

tion by the police in case of radio theft and

speeds settlement of an insurance claim by

providing evidence of ownership.

í Keep the card in a safe place, out of reach

of unauthorised persons.

The code label, placed on the inside of the car

window for high visibility, shows everyone:

The car radio is worthless to thieves!

Coding

If the code is activated and the car radio is

disconnected from the car battery (or perma-

nent plus terminal 30) of your vehicle, the

radio is electronically disabled.

Only you can start it again by entering your

personal code number.

Removing the control panel

In addition to activating coding, you can

remove the control panel of the car radio and

take it with you. This renders the car radio

worthless to thieves.

Security indication

The CD button is flashin

if the car radio, the ignition/start switch and

the car illumination are switched off.

The security indication is switched on.

Attention with automatic aerials!

Your car radio switches on automatically

when inserting a cassette or when a con-

nected car telephone or CB radio receives

a call.

Before visiting, for example, a car wash,

turn the knob until ”STAND BY OFF”

appears in the display. The unit then is swit-

ched off and can only be switched on again

using this knob.

Alternatives: switch off your telephone/wire-

less set, or switch the ”mute in phone

mode” function to ”PHONE OFF” when in

the Expert mode, or remove the control unit.
