PRO DUC T FEA TURE
GYSTECH 3800 is desig ned for charging a variety of S LA (sealed
lead acid ) batter ies, w idely used in mot orbik es, cars an d sever al
other veh icles. Th e batter ies may be o f variou s types i.e.
WET/Flood ed (Liq uid Elec tro lyte), GEL (Gel atin t ype Electr olyte,
absorbed into the p lates), AGM ( Absorbed Glass Mat ) batter ies.
Gystech ch arges 12V bat teries from 1. 2 Ah to 60Ah an d provides
maintenanc e charg e for 12V batter ies from 60 to 120 Ah. The
charger d etects a b attery wit h a voltage above 7.8 V.
SAFE TY INFORMATI ON
▪ Do not use it for any other purpos es
▪ Do not at tempt to charge non rech argeable batt eries
▪ Respect the rating of t he fuse, whi ch is indicated on the c harger.
▪ In case the p ower cord is d amaged, be sure to st op using it at

CHARGING
Charging of a perm anently instal led battery in a vehi cle
a- Before co nnecting or disconne cting the battery leads, the power
cord shou ld be remov ed from the mains.
b- Check polarity of b attery post. A positive (“+”) battery post
usually has a larger d iameter th an a negative (“-”) post.
c- Identify the pole of battery which is connected to t he chassis
(earth). Normally th e negative t erminal is con nected to the cha ssis.
d- Charging of negati ve earthed battery:
• Make sur e the black wire (“-” pole connection) has not contact
with the fuel l ine or the battery.
• Connect the red wire (“+”) t o the positive (“+” ) pole of the
battery and the bla ck wire (“-“) to the vehicle chassi s.
e- Charging of positi ve earthed battery:
• Make sur e the red wire (“+” p ole connection ) has no c ontact
with the fuel l ine or the battery.
• Connect the bl ack wire (“-”) to the negative (“ -”) pole of the
batter y and the red wire (“+“) to th e vehicle chassi s.
Charging of a battery not connected to a vehi cle
a- Before connect ing or d isconnecting the bat tery leads, the power
cord shou ld be remov ed from the mains.
b- Connect the red wire (“+”) to the positive (“+”) pole of the
battery and the bla ck wire (“-“) to the negative (“ -“) pole.
Permanen t connect ion to th e vehicle batt ery ( cable wit h eyelet
termina ls=acce ssories n° 12-13)
Warning: During the mounting, do not co nnect the charger to the
cable with ey elet termina ls.
a- connect t he red cab le to the positive b attery 's pole.
b- connect the black cab le to the neg ative batter y's pole.
c- Fix your c able to the v ehicle chassis.
Make sure that the ca ble is not being pinched or in contact with
warm surfaces or sharp edg es.
d- After this, the quick contact of the charger can be c onnected
After charging, disc onnected the battery c harger from supply
mains. The n remove the chas sis connection and the batter y
connection, i n this order.
SELECT CHARGING MODE
Connect the charger to the battery. After connection to t he power
supp ly, the p ower ind icator lig hts on .
By repeated ly pressing the select ion but ton displays th e
charging modes i n the followi ng order , MODE 1 ,
MODE 2 , MODE 3 and repeat s this
cycle.
If you press , charging mode a utomatically swi tches to the next
operation mode and begins functioni ng in that specific mode.
However after a full charge, i f battery is not d isconnect ed from t he
charger, it remains in float charge mod e, even if user switches it
over to ano ther mod e. This protec ts batt ery from being dam aged.
MODE 1 (14.4/0.8A)
Press the select ion but ton to select Mode 1. LED display will
light up . If no further p rocess is activat ed, the electron ic system w ill
automatically s tart the charging process with the LED displaying
and charging sta rts with a current of 0 .8A ±10%. I f this
procedure runs smoothly, the LED displ ay w ill rem ain o n
during the entire cha rging process, until battery is fully cha rged up
to 14.4V±0 .25V. At th is stage LED display will turn off and
LED display will tur n on.
MODE 2 (14.4/3. 8A)
Press the select ion but ton to select Mod e 2. The corresp onding
LED display will light up. If no further process is activated, the
electronic system will auto matical ly start the ch arging p rocess w ith
the LED displayi ng and charging starts with a current of 3.8A
±10%. If this procedure runs smoothly, the LED displa y will
remain on duri ng the entire charging proce ss, until battery i s fully
charged up to 14.4V±0.25V. A t this stag e LED disp lay will
turn off and LED display will t urn on.
MODE 3 (14.7/3.8A)
Press the select ion butt on t o se lect Mode 3. Th e corresp onding
LED dis play wi ll light up immedi ately. If no fur ther action is
taken, t he electronic sy stem wil l autom atica lly start the ch arging
process w ith a set delay . In t his mode , th e charging current is
identical to that of Mode 2. If this procedure runs smoothl y, the LED
display remains on, th e electron ic syste m becomes act ive and
remains i n this condition unti l battery is ful ly charged upto
14.7V±0.25V . At thi s stage LE D displ ay will turn off and LED
display will turn on.
RECOVERY OF D EEP DISCHARGED BATTE RY
At the b eginning of t he charging p rocess, GYSTE CH 3800
automatically checks the vol tage of the battery. If voltage is
between 7,5V and 10,5V, it beg ins pulse chargin g with small curren t
to recover the batt ery until 10,5V±0. 5V.
PROTECT ION S
In case of p roblem, th e charger au tomatically sw itches on
protection mode . The system wil l remain in t hat position until t he
